Also my lonely single copy of D’orc I preordered should be here today…is the general consensus to take the money and run haha
I just sold one of my 3 copies for $80… if it hits $100 or starts to fall I’ll list the other 2.
Never get attached. Take the money and run. Will this book be a $100 book in 2 years? Maybe. I’d guess it’s a far better chance that it’s a $20 book in 2 years.
I would only keep it if you think the story is good/has potential. But only if you’re in love with it.
it’s very likely you’ll be able to buy it back in a year for a fraction of the cost…if you want a copy for the PC.
Just sold my second copy of Dorc for 80. I was starting to wonder if it was going to move. Tons of views, some watchers. Four lowball offers before someone finally came and got it at full price despite my best offer option. I get that it is dumb to think like that when it’s been under 48 hours but considering I had it priced lower than the ones posted after me, I thought it would have moved faster.
The hype will fizzle away and I bet this settles around $15-$20 in no time, probably sooner rather than later…
Seven To Eternity kind of did the same thing when it was released. No options, new book, even had Remender who was known already writing it, artwork was fantastic, story was great… book heated up to $100 range… then within a few weeks was back down to $20 and under range.
I might be wrong but sell D’orc if you got them. If you really want it, wait a bit, you’ll be able to buy again when the value corrects itself after some time.
I loved Seven to Eternity. Until its breaks killed momentum and I stopped caring…or remembering about it
Yeah… same here.
Another book I loved and I thought was going to be the best ever was Dying and the Dead by Hickman… first 3 issues were amazing and then poof… nothing… then he released the special issue that was just reprints. Then it seemed like forever for remaining issues up through #6 to come out. I was really hoping for an ongoing series but the delays to issue #6 killed it all for me.
Saga anyone? Yes issue one is still super hot but there have been years between issues.
I don’t even remember it. What year was this?
Maybe that’s the point here…no one remembers the booms that flopped…they not see Absolute Batman and Assorted Crisis as those are in your face every day.
Makes you wonder what’s going on with BKV cause he’s kind of vanished too on other works he usually does. He must be busy doing other non comic related stuff.
2016
Saga was 2012, and Eternity was early 2017.
The first comic I ever bought on eBay for speculative purposes was Totally Awesome Hulk 22. I paid $23 and at the time I could not believe I was paying over $20 for a comic that had recently come out…
So those books were before I was paying attention to such nonsense of paying crazy prices for a new book.
I’ve come a long way…
2017, I believe. That was the year I got back into comics after a 25-ish year break. Seven to Eternity was the first series that was recommended and caught my eye.
Amen. It’s definitely a science that requires a lot of research, hunting, and often times, mega frustration.
I’m still waiting for Hickman and Coker to finish Black Monday Murders. Someday?
Yess
Morning glories…
