Modern Comics Heating Up (Those With Potential Too) (Part 1)

Wide arrange of consumers. Some are in it just to flip or collect. Others just want to read.

But yes, if they actually focused on better story telling, that goes much further I think than the quick cash grab from FOMO consumers… They should focus on the organice growth over the "look at what people are buying right now because they’re effing nuts… "

Marvel has quite a few good books. I think they put plenty effort to make quality products. Even the SM7 stuff wasnt bad. But the endless reprinting and store exclusives is completely on us. If we stop buying the obvious gimmicks, they wouldnt print them.

Pure collectors fall in love with the art, regardless of future value

All gone. As is also the Spider-Gwen Shadow Clones #1 2nd Print 1:25 & Hallows Eve #1 2nd print 1:25… :sunglasses:

I have a few copies of spider shill er boy so i dont say this out of personal spite…but anyone who thinks spiderboy is gonnna be worth their weight in salt is deluding themselves. Robin King has more of a chance at being the next Miles and Robin King has about a .000004 chance at catching heat.

See here is the cool thing, I have sold copies to make money. Have some left over. If it amounts to nothing, I have already made money. If it goes up I have more to sell. Win/win.

That’s how ya do it!

Same. I sold my extra copies of this and am just holding one copy of A and the spoiler variant. #freebooks

I sold 4 copies and bought a Bloodstone #1. I’d likely have wasted it on crap if I didn’t buy something for my PC :stuck_out_tongue:

At this point, almost hoping it does become something as I don’t know that I’ve ever seen such a concerted “comic influencer” move to distract and downplay a current hot book.

Awful lot of people suddenly clamoring about the catastrophic effects of FOMO, speculative buying, and overpaying when any other time it is business as usual with the books they are touting/have stacks of.
Just sort of funny how this particular book is all the sudden the “devil” of comic book speculation.

Yup… buy low, sell high. Make profit on copies bought, hold a few, gamble on long term. If you miss on buying low, skip it and move on to the next one… very simple rules to follow and you never lose!

Wish I could join in, I’m still waiting for my copies to even ship out.

Wow—that’s nuts but it doesn’t surprise any of us, I reckon…

Same, I bought some from Jonathan’s Comics on ebay.

Try asking him if tracking will be uploaded soon. I got tracking the same day afterwards

I did something really stupid. So last week I picked up my copy of Spiderboy spoiler and a few copes of Deadly Neighbourhood Dream Spider razzah cover. Somehow I put in somewhere in my condo and now I can’t find it. Been looking for the last few days and it’s nowhere to be found. It’s only a 1 bedroom condo so there’s only a few places I can put it, I’m perplexed on why I can’t find it.

I’m now starting to wonder if I actually picked it up at my shop after paying for it. Was I too busy chatting with my LCS guy and forgot to actually pick up my books on the way out? I’m feeling like Homer Simpson right now.

When you do find them, it’s gonna be the last place you look… :stuck_out_tongue:
Sorry, couldn’t resist!

Hope you find them!

eBay seller?

Look at TDKR, Hush, The Long Halloween, etc. Those are great stories and the original printings of those sets go for seriously decent money. Sure there are some first appearances in those sets, but I’d argue they are minor to medium keys in terms of character appearances but major keys in terms of overall character mythos.
