Modern Comics Heating Up (Those With Potential Too) (Part 1)

To allow publishing time to properly roll out phase 3.

Honestly, the back story is interesting enough, but not essential for me to care about the resolution of the phase 1 story line.

Is there anything or anyone in the Jedi Survivor video game that would make any Phase II intros or events matter?

I’m not going to play it for a while, so no worries if the answer is a spoiler.

Pointed it out a few times. But TFaW wasn’t good about putting a link up so I went with impulse creations.

That’s ok. I don’t get Momoko.

I enjoy Aja and Momoko’s work when they’re, “On,” but their stuff that they make on off days is rough.

Honestly I enjoyed the stories in Phase 2 more than Phase 1.

People are really dumb if they fall for this two weeks in a row.

How do they convince enough people to buy crap so that it affects the whole market. Something isn’t right

FOMO is a thing

I liked his covers for Scarlet Witch a few years back. Gorgeous… I feel like his recent stuff isn’t the same though to be fair

Immortal Iron Fist, Immortal Weapons, 5 Ronin, and Hawkeye were way at made me a longtime fan.

It actually doesn’t take a lot of sales to influence the market because the majority of speculators aren’t reading the comics. There is a guy at my LCS who has a pull box with them but he doesn’t have any titles on his pull, he just calls in during the week for the lcs to hold him copies of what’s hot for the week. So for example last week he called in asking the shop to save him 3-5 copies of Star Wars 34, and Spiderman 8. The week before that it was 3 copies of Spiderman 7 spoiler lol. He does it to every shop in my area. This of course pisses off the lcs owner. It also tips the lcs off on what’s hot for the week. So some of the shops pull the books off the floor or never put them out on Wednesday.

I’m thinking about the anatomy of the pump and dump. A few facebook groups or youtube influencers get their copies early and then start pumping the book before wednesday. Other places pick it up like KCC. Maybe there are a few shill bids and sales. Btw I was watching a video on YouTube and the hosts said that they were contacted by some whatnot hosts to join their group to pump and hype up whatnot exclusives. They declined.

So prices go up for the pump and dump during the week. Depending on where you live and if you got a good shop, you’ll be able to get your copies on ncbd. For most people they will go to their shop and not find a copy and Fomo kicks in. There may be others who are tired of the wednesday warrior game and just decide to pay a premium for it. That’s what I think it’s happening. People can chime in and add in their thoughts.

So with Star Wars #34 they started buying them up the Wednesday the week before release by Friday only retailers left online that had them was Graham which is limit one on everything and a few retailers on hipcomic. Then people hear there’s a first see the shill bidder prices on eBay and couldn’t find any online to buy because they bought them all. Hook line and sinker.

I was asked by someone to find them copies on Thursday week prior which I found them one and they said that’s not enough I found them 5 copies from a person on hipcomic and they said they are looking for more than that. Which then I asked why and got the whole beans spilled.

Btw bleedingstool is one of the worst offenders of this, contributing and fueling the whole pump and dump scheme with their sensationalistic reporting and not fact checking. If you guys remember when Daredevil 25 (Elektra as Daredevil) was the hot book of the week. Spoilers were out and prices started climbing over the weekend before the issue was out, around $15-20. Then there was a shill sale for $300 for 2 copies even though ebay was flooded with listings for $20. It was obvious that it was a shill sale but bleedingstool reported it as a real thing with a sensational headline to get clicks saying it just sold for $300. Then prices started to climb as fomo kicked in and I think it went as high as $75 raw before settling.

If one needs to go through all that trouble, they shouldn’t be doing this. They should be cornering the market on a comic that is deserving

Sometimes it’s all about quick flips for small gains and then off to the next book to hype…
