Modern Comics Heating Up (Those With Potential Too) (Part 1)

Look at the black suit var prices(Not the special variant)

There are two black suit covers. The one that is the Chechetto cover just changed and another one. Only one has taken off so far. The other point to remember is a rising tide raises all ships. Meaning with cover A getting out of peoples price range, they will decide which is the next best cover for them to grab.

It’s the OCD nature of comic book collectors. They want the main cover. This is the first batch and we’ve only seen it heat up the last 2 days. When people realize they can’t get the main cover anymore or don’t want to pay a premium we will see the other covers heat up.

I have, it’s why I said 1 or 2 covers have taken off…the oddness of the situation remains however as the most often used rationale (that I’ve seen) for this hype is new readers, “what a story”, I missed the book, etc…so it remains my point that it’s odd to see such a disparity. Especially when the covers that have skyrocketed are nothing unique, special.

KCC had the non special Black suit cvr listed as a key of the week and cvr a is typically the most sought after

See, people buying the black suit cover are buying the wrong cover. We know from the covers for issues #1, 2 & 3 Peter has the regular, traditional suit…

New year, new money being thrown around :money_mouth_face:

Lets see if the Ultimate line can bring in the 2021 Star Wars money (wishful thinking…)

TBH, I think Star Wars specs have long past.

I know you keep showing this cover, but buyers are dumb. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

It will bite them in the ass later

Do we care if we are selling?

The variant title is “tease” which to me means it’s just that. Teasing people black suit spidey (or more ridiculously that it’s a version of Venom) is in the book, when he/it is not.

But when (not if) the ultimate venom of this universe shows up that cover will be pushed again as the “first appearance of ultimate Venom 2024!!”

Either way, I totally agree with how bizzare it is that just about every other cover has been at or near cover…not seeing anywhere near the heat of the two we’re discussing. I don’t think this bubble can last. Once every FOMO purchase has subsided and those crazies have secured their copy, and the mail orders arrive, these books are very likely to see a significant correction and come back to earth.

I do think the book will hold steady in the $20-$25 range after the wild ride in the coming weeks. Until they do away with this universe like they always do with ultimates.

I just hope I don’t get screwed and have all my copies I ordered the past few days get cancelled on me. I’ve already had a few shops tell me they were out of stock…none of the cancellations were the A cover yet, though.

I thought about the Venom angle. But…

It’s just a stealth suit. Maybe it changes into the other costumes…idk

I don’t even know what all those words mean…

Now pretend I don’t know anything about science and technology and explain it again, lol.

I stopped in a shop that focuses on things other than comics. They always have a handful of the hot comic of the week for me to grab. Even they were down to just one copy. It was the “special variant” cover. Not sure what that means. But, I grabbed it simply to read the book. And, while I was there for 2 minutes, someone came in and asked specifically for this title. Pretty wild how hot this book is.

Now to see if the read is as good as people say…

I’m honestly surprised the manhanini “special” variant hasn’t heated up as much as the chechetto symbiote variant. It seems like the chechetto variants are just nodes to other Spidey costumes, while the manhanini variant is actually showing off the black suit he’ll be rocking in the series  so curious…
