Modern Comics Heating Up (Those With Potential Too) (Part 1)

The tv show was announced right before FOC of FS Wonder Woman #1…soooo…that definitely had an effect on bumping up orders.

I’m not judging per se, I’m just baffled but I also say… “to each their own”… people can like what they want to like without me directly judging them.

i dont remember there being any store exclusives for Future State WW #1 but according to the CGC Census there are 28 slabbed versions of a “Comic Mint” exclusive for this issue, I have a feeling this is a typo as Comic Mint DID release a store variant for Future State Immortal WW. Idk too many variants in this life.

You don’t get nominated for an Eisner for bad writing. It may not be your kind of writing, but it’s not bad writing.

Man, getting even better! Wonder if I got any 9.8’s…

what?!?! this is great but insane! they were $50 all day a month ago; i dont get how Frison and Hughes variants are still only getting thirty percent of that even though they probably had lower print runs.

A cover with character on cover is almost always the go to for books.

Most of the time the only time a B cover hits over the A on a first app is if character is in the B but not the A.

Poyo will put up his Cover A meme.

The trifecta!!! Writer, Artist, Cover… Oh yeah, and that stuff Poyo says.

the huges cover isnt even yara, its of diana which is why it will never come close to cover A in price

i guess this all makes sense. but sometimes i def dont agree with it, for instance in the case of punchline- her first cameo appearances dont have her on any covers, that’s fine by me because I prefer the variants and think they might do better in a long hold, if she makes it that long… and in this case i definitely think that time will agree that the frison cover is just more aesthetically pleasing. but i guess time is the biggest factor in all spec.

I would imagine the book does what Naomi did shoot up to $500 9.8s then back to $100 9.8s 6 months later then back up when the show comes out then back down once people start complaining about how they don’t like CW DC TV.

I hope it just goes up since CW isn’t ruining Yara with a show.

I dunno, but I ordered 5 copies online for cover today. 4 from Tallman Toys. Hoping prices hold until I get them!

I think people are finally realizing that Yara is gonna be around for a while. FSWW was by far my favorite FS book. I do think the print run probably jumped up because of the show announcement but that kept it at cover price until now.

I really liked Wonder Girl and I think she is good in Justice League. It’s cool to see a comic going up in value without some kind of media announcement and just because people like the character.

There will probably be a ton of people sub this book now and I would expect the price on those slabs will go up like @Alana said until these next round of submissions come back but that won’t be for months. Even after that it will probably come down just because the supply increased but then climb again and really take off with more info about the show.

Meh… Awards mean nothing nowadays. 5 or 6 people who are in charge of nominations for Eisner Awards do not necessarily represent everyone in the industry if you ask me. :man_shrugging:

Ha ha. Whatever dude. :joy:

It’ll be interesting to see if more CBCS slabs show up than CGC initially due to the wall of backlog that they must be facing right now…coupled with the price hikes.

I like deep and complex writing and stories. I also like junk sometimes. Balance is key!

I like junk as well but I draw the line at complete nonsense at times…
