New character Miracle Molly in Batman

I was one of the few that was buying and reading the whole series. My copy of #3, however, was in the worst condition of the four I purchased via my LCS pull list. So I had potential 9.8 copies of #1,2 and 4 and a 9.2’ish colour rubbed version of the only one that had potential value!!! Aaarrgghhh. It’s been an expensive after-market chase to get a couple of 9.8s

Add to your memory banks that this man was also a mass murderer.

Revolutions aren’t always for the better. Not saying they don’t have good intentions behind them, but Cuba isn’t known for it’s freedom.

European settlers, our forefathers, were quite the sadistic arbitrators of genocide and mass murder too. World history, for a good chunk, is not for the faint of heart.

Kill a few million, you’re a conqueror. Kill one person, you’re a murderer. Go figure.

And if you’re Christopher Columbus who not only killed natives, enslaved natives and raped women, you get an effing holiday named after you!

I don’t know that I’d be proud to have “Smallpox Introduction Day” named after me…

This is true… and as per a previous post of mine I am working on not jumping to my old ways of knee jerk responses. I slipped up and spouted out old talking points and counter arguments without giving any thought to them or the perspective of the folks on the other side of the argument.

I guess one man’s hero is another man’s villain (See George Washington in the eyes of King George.)

I kind of saw Thanos point in Infinity War and End Game… was he the real villain? Some could argue that suffering > death while death > suffering. The Avengers bringing back half the universe so they can just continue to suffer is kind of a dick move if you ask me…

Che was complicated. He was revolting against the Cuban Government who would shoot and kill rebel prisoners on the spot and then Che would kill defectors himself and then he would say stuff like this about America “Those who kill their own children and discriminate daily against them because of the color of their skin; those who let the murderers of blacks remain free, protecting them, and furthermore punishing the black population because they demand their legitimate rights as free men—how can those who do this consider themselves guardians of freedom?”

He was a guy who did bad things to bad people but also did bad things to good people but also made sense at times as well. History is wack

Interesting, I know Tynion said it was a cameo but I did not know DC officially said HA3 was the first full.

Because u killed off all the people who called u a murderer, lol.

There are few real-world heroes who are unblemished after close scrutiny, especially as world views change over time. A hero of one age becomes a retrospective villain in another. A hero from one perspective is a despot from another. Maybe that’s why we love the heroes of the comic book world.

Batman Fan - I was neither lauding not critiquing him, just recoiling from an image I’d never seen before. I know far too little about Cuban history to take a stand or a position. :+1:

First I heard of this too. You got a source for DC officially saying that HA3 was first full? Cause Tynion also claimed Batman 92 was her first full in his opinion that I recall from one of his newsletter blog posts thingys…

Exactly this for me as well. I apologize for barking at you. I jumped the gun and just regurgitated talking points I’ve heard in the past. Trying to work on slowing my roll and not having knee jerk reactions.

Kill Em all is a great Metallica album

Their first studio album, I believe. And the album was originally going to be released with the album being called ‘Metal Up Your A$$’. For obvious reasons, their record co. did not let the album name make it to print…except in the liner notes of Kill 'em All. Imo, their best album, with Master of Puppets being a close second. :metal:

I seen them back in the late 80’s and the early 90’s. Great concerts.
