New character Miracle Molly in Batman

No worries fella!

Wow, what is it about this topic and images that make me recoil! Now I have to fear the toilet too :grimacing:

And justice For All was a pretty great album.

I won a set of a and b for batman 108 tonight off Facebook live sale. I didn’t order any, so guess I’ll stash them away and see what happens

On sale at Midtown if anyone missed out

Man, these just came out too. If Midtown is dumping them this quickly, not a good sign if you ask me
but yes, if you wanted them for PC, perfect time to buy at the much lower prices.

Not a good sign for the book/character, or for Midtown, or both?

Midtown sure feels like they’re desperate for cash flow, eh?

I am afraid that they would arrive damaged.

With all the exclusives, it will need to be a long long-term hold

Not just that though, it’s also a bad sign that people aren’t really into the character as well. For a book to just hit the market weeks ago and they’re already doing 60% off sale on them, just means they weren’t moving any of them cause nobody wanted them
It’s going to be interesting if this character ever gains popularity, only popularity will create demand that might help for the “long term” gambling

Sooo many shops went heavy on that issue too. She has made an impact yet for the randoms to want the issue.

Tynion said that she will be a mainstay in the next story arcs for atleast the next year before she appeared. And I’m a big Batman guy, and the design and persona it appeared she had (before 108 came out) really put me off of her and I thought I wasn’t going to like the character that much. But after reading her ‘first full’ I was surprised at how much I enjoyed her character and look forward to seeing more of her in the next issues. I wonder why the general pop is offput by her, or maybe they just printed the ever living hell out of 108 (which is true) and midtown just has so many incentive issues leftover.

History tends to lean towards the first appearances that are pushed by the publisher tend to not do so well on the secondary.

I also think Batman has lost it’s edge as well cause it seems like every issue now has a new “mainstay” character. It’s like Tynion is trying his hardest to mark his spot on Batman for years to come with all his latest character creations
 :man_shrugging:

All the new characters have been great as has the Batman run, easily my favourite read of all the series and I look forward to each new issue.

Secondary market and value does not equate to good/bad character especially this current market of absolute morons wasting money on crap. The problem here isn’t the character the problem is over ordering because people seem to think new character automatically means more demand and money. So it’s good sell your over ordered stock at 60% off but the same thing will likely happen again with the next character who appears :stuck_out_tongue:

I like the character. Definitely one to hold long term.

But but
doesn’t the market also decide which is the real first appearance? Muhahahahaha!

It’s not people over ordering though if the retailers are sitting on stacks of copies. That’s shops and retailers anticipating what was pushed by the creator and publisher in hopes everyone rushes out to buy, falling victim as consumers instead of listening to their customer base and pre-orders, which should be based on what they know what they can sell.

But I agree, you can have good characters, good stories that never amount to any type of value. I got stacks of indie reads that are 100000 times better than any Marvel or DC title or story that will be worthless probably until the world ends.

One of my favorite all time reads ever was Grievous Journey Of Ichabod Azrael by Rob Williams. Another great read was Brass Sun. Both surprisingly from 2000AD/Rebellion. If these were BOOM! titles with all the extra hyping and promotion they do, probably be worth a whole lot more. People fall victim to marketing and FOMO. Just goes back to the meme posted here the other day

Yeah the character is better than I thought she would be. And I really think its midtown over ordering or over pricing the ratio when it first came out to why they have so many copies.
