Did stores just forget to order this cvr or what? Seems very weird
I think most stores don’t research spec books like we do. My shops just order a bunch of A covers and a smattering of B and sometimes C covers. If a B cover gets hot they can go fast as there aren’t that many copies.
I don’t get why they would buy more of cvr C than B, but whatever
My stores look at the covers and orders what they think they can sell. Sometimes they get a heads up from their customers if there’s significant preorders. I don’t think there were many preorders for B.
I guess they dug the gonzo cvr and figured it would sell way better
Yes I saw some foc shows and the influencers were raving about how much they love the gonzo cover. I don’t think I remember people pointing out the B cover considering Fantasma already appeared on the new champions cover.

Most shops maybe just order Pulls and the A cover and all it a day? I dunno.

Sometimes shops get an email blast when publishers want to push a first appearance alert, so maybe… shops will order some extra copies. But considering marvel and DC has killed off any excitement about first appearances by having one every other issue, shops like my LCS don’t give a damn.
Some people call ahead and ask for a variant to be put on their pull box. So maybe they did order them, but they got scooped up before they hit the shelf.

No - there’s a Thank You Variant and 2 versions of the 1:100 (think Power Fantasy)

There are actually 3. There are 2 1:100, the one with the normal trade dress like the other variants, which is the surprise 1:100 and the one that resembles Darkest night. There is a thank you variant that is like the darkest night 1:100, except it has gold foil lettering.

Yes, ordered after FOC. Order was cancelled for Robbie Reyes Sandoval variant, today. Even though I ordered them before the email came out saying there were new books on the website. I didn’t even clean them out, there were 7 listed and I bought 4. Don’t think it’s worth bothering with this store, still searching for Canada’s TFAW.
No Hyde Steet foil. No absolute Batman at opening.
My shop does not order many shelf copies, so I’m assuming people called ahead and reserved copies after FOC.
My plane just landed and I headed straight to my LCS, 3 hrs after open because plane got delayed twice because it hit a flock of birds on the previous flight and the front got damage and had to be replaced at the airport.
LCS had over 200 copies of Absolute Batman cover A (4 stacks of 50) when I got there and lots of ratios. So shop was heavily prepared. Also saw a couple copies of the Geiger foc unlock cover. Picked 1 up in case it does anything, looks like a bit of fomo to me.
I did not see Hyde Street. I went straight to the shop that usually holds one per stores for me. No show.
