New Comic Book Day

This story is better than USM #1. I don’t care how much it’ll be worth.

If shops ordered correctly, they wouldnt be selling out.

And yea, Im not interested in another multiverse Batman. This is a future dollar bin book. Its Supply vs Demand. And I see Supply higher than Demand…

There are a TON of exclusives.

I think people will more likely go for the ashcan.

It actually started that very weekend. By Friday it was pretty much a sell out everywhere. Lots of shops reporting getting inundated with phone calls for it.

It’s already selling above cvr. It just may not top out very high. Yes, there are still cvr price copies available

By day 6 USM 1 was selling at $30+ consistently, as a a point of reference.

Hmm

A few comments on Absolute Batman 1:

No, it won’t be a dollar book.

200K is a big print run, but, as noted, there’s a lot of exclusives, ratios, and open order variants. Cover A print run would be the key number. As with so many books, A will be the way.

It’s supply AND demand. Not just supply. Not just demand. Not one more than the other.

And, finally, a disclaimer: I’m talking my book in some ways. We ordered healthy numbers on this book, and the dynamic so far is tracking similarly to new52 Batman 1, with quality driving large supply to be outweighted by larger demand.

I’m not saying it will be this but I’m getting Spawn #1 vibes, $20 to $30 for the next 40 years.

Less. Lol

There will never be another book like Spawn 1. I overheard my LCS talking one day saying that their number 1 seller is Spawn 1, they can’t keep it in stock. He said if every single comic book fan in the world bought a copy of Spawn 1, there will still be copies left over. Yet people still buy them.

My LCS still had 30+ on the shelves today of cover A as well as at least 1 of each open order covers.

Midtown still has cover A of Absolute Batman #1 for sale. I would think a lot of shops still have it for now, if people are starting to pay overinflated Ebay prices and you didn’t get it, might was well get it for cover.

What was the print run for Ultimate Spider-Man 1 first print?

No way to know

I did offer the ashcan from SDCC. Sold for $30. Which was what I paid lol.
