Looks like supply is drying up and price is appreciating… while demand is still strong.
But I’m not sure since I’m a slow person hanging out at the back.
Midtown often has stock of many hot books due to their monster order size. But that doesn’t mean a book won’t trend. Thankfully, they don’t sandbag the entire market like ■■■■■-ass MCS’ one-per instant eBay uploads.
Just FYI…it (AB) also hit that ole app everyone loves to hate a bit late last night as a hot and trending book (not that it comes a surprise). There are folks who use that list as gospel and pay zero attention to other things.
I found a, “Mark Spears Monsters,” issue one cover A and B at a spot that seems to have more folks after hero comics with the indie stuff overlooked. I was pleased.
Was about to go hunting today for all the new champions variant covers but it’s such a miserable wet and rainy day here. Lots of rain and it’s cold on top to boot. Decided I wasn’t going to embrace the elements, will go tomorrow instead.
Then I heard the beautiful cash register sound on my mobile and see that another copy of AB1 has sold. Checked over my inventory and in a panic noticed that my inventory is drying up…
Decided to bump my price up to $30 of my other copies to see what happens… then suddenly…
What is happening? Is this a dream? I was told by the "wise " Comic Book Speculation Authority that sellers are flooding market, this ain’t no Ultimate Spider-Man the man says. “You are slow” the man says, this heading straight to the dollar bins.
I happily pack my items and drop them off at the post office to the happy buyers who weren’t lucky enough to find a copy. I know they will love this issue as it’s a great read. Perhaps they just love good comics and they don’t care about speculation. Strangely enough most of my buyers are from California. Wonder if supply is drying up there…
