Woof. Those AbsBats 24 copies are in rough shape. I grabbed the best one, but itâs still not great.
Agreed went though about 2 dozen, all were rough, nothing I would even call a NM.

Said he was charging 2.99. The copies were not in the best shape either. I get it, but ya know, didnât have previews out or anything either. Oh well. Iâll grab it at my normal store.
Were they supposed to be free? My LCS was charging $2.99 but I didnât go on Batman day

I thought it was intended to be sold at $2.99.

Itâs just that I know a few stores handed one out free with a purchase and as mentioned he had excess like 60 itâs a small shop, just was mentioning it. How is the story?
Or send them into CGC and theyâll certainly be 9.8 or better regardless of actual condition or damage!

My shop had two copies of A, and no variants so I couldnât verify whether the A covers under the cardstock had the same issue.
I did grab one of them because it didnât seem too bad. Nothing color breaking anyway that I could tell.
From over 20-30 ABS 24 all had color rub on the bottom left cover and numberoua color rub along the front cvr spine. However, if you get the variant (card stock), their pristine, no issue. Just FYI.
Photos of external & internal A,B,C & D covers. I was able to grab a couple of decent A covers from a stack of approx. 40 copies. Iâm pretty fussy about condition, but Iâm taking these minor printing defects in stride. I can confirm B, C & D internal covers looked good. On the flip slide, pics show how internal B cover coloring reflects heavier yellow & green ink. I noticed same color variations in stack of A covers.

Did you remove the other covers competely?
I thought the same, but he just opened them and laid the next book on top of the inside cover.

Quick Scan through 80-100 Books, picked-out 4 copies. Maybe 4 (9.8 - 1 borderline) Candidates. Overall looked over > 100 books⊠in 2 days. < 4% is to have non obvious defect (long color rub and creases along spine). Damn happens on a key tooâŠSad part is I pre-ordered and saw the news about the damage book like ABS 20. So I proactively bought another set that I cherry-picked. So much for my pre-order =(.
Youâd think the most popular book around could be printed and packed well. Youâd think that and youâd be wrong.

Itâs got a couple typos in it, too. I know mistakes happen, but this is their golden goose right now and you truly would think it would have more eyes on it both editorially and production-wise.
