The shipment is already late. They may have trouble getting copies they are shorted or arrive damaged.
So far (knock on wood), I have yet to receive a shipment late. Worst case has been the day before, best case has been the Saturday before. Knocking on more wood so my comics donāt arrive lateā¦
However, I also donāt order them by the pallet loadā¦
Haha, very true. Youāre gonna need a bigger warehouse and bigger crew when you start ordering like the big dogs orderā¦
I can only imagine TFAW probably does at least 20k books a weekā¦ maybe moreā¦ but thatās my guesstimate. Iām sure they easily rake in more in one month than some smaller shops make in an entire year for revenue. So yeah, when you low on staff, you get shipments late, any small amount of hiccup can cause havoc on the workflow of getting crap out in timeā¦ one person on bag and board duties could probably put them behind a day or two Iād imagineā¦ Could you imagine bagging and boarding 10k+ comics a week? I bag 100 while sitting on the couch watching television and it takes me a good couple of hoursā¦
8 hours a day bagging and boarding comics, Iād get so āboardā oh man I crack myself up!
Thatās certainly a dad joke for sureā¦ Dad Joke badge granted!
I do not know where to ask this, but anyone preordered WHITE #3 in TFAW? I canāt find it there.
Too many people using the secret links around here.
@ry3zen Pre ordered issue 1,2,3 from TFAW back on April 17th, here was the link to 3 but shows sold out at the moment https://www.tfaw.com/apr211534-white-3.html
Yup, all these super secret links one without even a login can scroll and click in this very topicā¦
I think this superman issue has a 1st app as well as being a good cvr.
Long time lurker. Finally bit the bullet and joined the group. Avid comic reader/collector, small time speculator. Benefitted a lot from the postings and discussions. Hope to contribute and further enrich the community.
Had an interesting discussion with TFAW chat support and it really got me frustrated. Got the email stating that my shipment was ready for processing and was charged for it. However, I noticed that several issues (reg. + variants) already out, were not shipped, and noticed that many members here were seeing theirs processed. Contacted TFAW chat to point out that if the remaining books were shipped later, I would be paying additional/another shipping charge putting me out price wise. I was told about not being able to combine/hold orders for shipment. To which I clarified that I understood COVID, distributor, delays, damages etc. BUT these were books that were already available and processed to TFAW customers. Heck, the order shipment was not even processed yet, just an email sent out, why couldnt they just combine it ? Hereās where it got strange, the rep insinuated that I was accusing him/her/TFAW of withholding books to make money. In all honesty, I hope TFAW does make money and is successful, as I had a good opinion of them. My point was that I was having to pay for extra charges because of the TFAW ordering system + delays that caused my orders to be parsed into separate orders, increasing shipping costs for me. My feeling was that TFAW should bite the bullet and understand that based on the situation, when the customer is not at fault, they should make some adjustment to the shipping charge, not blame their poor ordering system. The charges may seem small to them but is quite large for a small buyer like me. Insinuating that I was accusing them of underhanded stuff really got my goat, when I am the affected party. The other issue is that even if the books are not shipped or not available, there is no indication if the books will be available later (not holding my breath !). Iām looking at the preFOC pre-hot spec Black Widow 6 that I ordered 1 copy of on Feb. 8, cause I like and collect Adam Hughes stuff, and now have a hole in the collection, because I cant afford the higher prices. When I contacted TFAW about this after my last order shipped, I was told that they are trying to get it backordered (its actually still listed on my preorder list !). I think all of us can see thats not happening, and yet there is no acknowledgement of this. I actually appreciate TFAW for their competitive prices, and even their earlier support. I am not one of those picky buyers, so no complaints about their packing, etc. (even though there were issues !). Been a long time - 3 year+ TFAW buyer, and also understand the COVID, worker, heat, distributor, etc. issues for the delays. But I just cant get over the added shipping charges FOR BOOKS THAT ALREADY AVAILABLE THROUGH THEM, and then spinning my complaint into something about accusations. Also, the poor communication about missing books is unfortunate, because I dont know whether to buy another copy or not, and dont have capital to chance things. Really causes me to rethink my buying options ā¦ Anyways sorry for the long rant. I will try to contribute and be more positive in my next postings.
Unfortunately, they will never combine. The shipping cost is too favorable to them. At least, thatās what I think is the reason. Also, if one pushes the issue, they arenāt going to react well.
Was it Kyle? Sometimes he comes off as a dick to me too, Spencer on the other hand has been awesome every time Iāve gotten him on their chat. I believe itās just the 2 of them for their entire ācustomer service departmentā.
Those are the only two Iāve seen.
Welcome DocCRR. A lot of us are in the same boat with TFAWās shipping/processing being spread out. Doesnāt help, but at least youāre not alone.
Unfortunately, Spencer ā¦ Iāve had good experiences with Kyle. Maybe he had a bad day, I know I did. Seriously though, I know its a tough time for retailers, but they also need to understand that customers are going through the same thing. I am patient with their delays, shipping issues, etc, - not too picky - more a reader/collector than a speculator, just happy to get the book ā¦ My budget however is a lot tighter than a big retailer. I am still rooting for them to get better. Have had good experiences overall with them, and Midtown.
