New Variant Ratios on TFAW

I ordered well before FOC (Feb. 8), as soon as it popped up on TFAW. Still no luck ! C’est la vie ! Must have had a lot of damages …

I respect the response ! No further discussion on retailer issues.

If you want to discuss further, feel free to contact me via PM. We will not discuss such matters publicly here.

For the record, we also use eBay, Amazon and other affiliaites, not just TFAW. TFAW just happens to be one of the only major pure comics shops that do affiliate links (and pre-orders on books). We’ve tried others in the past and welcome others in the future. We have always tried to point readers and members to the best deals out there we find via links. We have no issues with members linking to products (as long as it’s not your own affiliate links).

If you would like to discuss further, again, PM me or @anthony but we are not going to discuss forum guidelines and rules publicly here. Sadly, you likely are only seeing a portion of what actually has happened and not the full story of our administrator/moderator actions and decisions that were taken.

Now, everyone back on topic!

Thanks.

I got a copy at my lcs and flipped it cause I thought one from tfaw came in but oh well, I do have the 1:25 of the 2nd print at least

PX STL193771

Is the PX edition not available on TFAW?

I don’t care much for any of these, but if I had to pick it’d be the PX edition not having seen the subscription variant.

Idk previewsworld.com is where I seen it. Ordered 1 thru Beedas.

It was, but its listed as sold out now.

It took me a little bit to figure out the whole Pullbox system, but I do like it now. It offers customers a way to manage their own subscriptions without needing my help. Once again, an improved process to reduce the need for extra staff.

I would like to see them improve the sign up process…so I could share a link and they could just go from there without having to approve them, but its not that difficult. I’m curious to see how they integrate it with PRH…because with Lunar, the shop has to remember to order the items not offered through Diamond (currently DC).

Yeah hopefully it goes smooth.

I’ve sent Anthony a message because you shut down the thread because it turned into people bashing TFAW. Well that’s the whole point of the thread. Perhaps TFAW needs to improve and people wouldn’t bash them.

@ToddW ,

I asked to discuss the matter via PM. That means, do not post such things here. You are now taking this topic off topic as it does not relate to that old thread.

Back on topic, if you want discuss our policies and rules, PM me or @Anthony

Just an FYI for you people who can’t seem to understand when we say, take it offline into PM/DM to discuss further, @Anthony gave me his full support in my decision. Ya’ll act like @anthony and moderators aren’t talking, but we are, all the time.

So, back on topic. Anyone cries about a topic being shutdown because it turned into a shit show I start cracking the moderator whip again. Time to let go and move on.

Regards.

Hey Mon is Marvel/Image etc update for FOC variants… so DC would be Sun correct? Or am I bugging? Since DC foc is Sunday and that’s when they tally up all orders and add additional ratios?

No, because their purchasing team isn’t working on weekends.

Tfaw wins with these DC team variants for sure

Definitely good value price-wise on TFAW. Personally, I am not sold on these Store variants. They seem to be manufactured rarity, and for the price, the covers should be a lot better - both art and featured image. I used to buy these when I first started collecting for spec/collection, then realized that over time most drop in price significantly, and many become insignificant. Do your own research, see Ebay, etc. I am not sure I trust the published no.s also. Even the well known artist store variants - Campbell, Hughes, Del’otto, etc, seem to be ‘repeat and rinse’ operations; not standouts like they used to be. Of course, there are some rare standouts - the Ross Batman store variant (can’t remember the issue #) etc., but usually I pass on these unless the covers really catch my eye or I luck out on a cheap spec. I have a local store that really hypes its own and other store variants at a higher price than other places, creating FOMO, but most are then available at 35-50% off come the next store sale.
As a small collector/spec guy, I have to be choosy with my purchases/$$, and mostly look to regular/variant non-store comics for my collection/spec. This is my opinion !

These stores really only do the exclusives to get all the ratios that come with them. If you notice, they usually only do them on books that have incentives. People keep buying them, so it’s the buyer’s who keep fueling the problem. Most collectors are buying for the cvr and don’t care about the value aspect, I guess.

I dabble with 1 - 2% purchasing new ratio/store variants based on what I read on this forum and others.
Everything else I purchase are established or up & coming keys.

I got tired of the hit or miss with new books. It bugs the %^&* out of me in purchasing new books and ultimately breaking even, losing, or even only making a few bucks. My time is worth more than that to me.

If you want quick flips, one has to pick stuff that everyone else isn’t anticipating and will care about it when it’s revealed. Otherwise, one better be willing to hold for sometimes decades. It seems like a real art to beat the hit or miss aspect. I’ve been trying forever and I’m still not very good at it.
