New Variant Ratios on TFAW

Yeah, it’s not a host problem… if they’re still using Magenta on backend, that’s the actual problem.

That’s not a ratio though is it?

Doesnt look like one; regular variant I think. Not sure who is doing the B variant, which is supposed to be a ratio. The pic for A variant is from the TFAW site.

All open order covers

Theres a bunch of ratio/non-ratio varant covers that I would love to see before this FOC (10/25). Otherwise, I may drop some. Getting too pricey for me.

Is it just me or are Diamond and Penguin getting worse about publishing covers before FOC?

Worse or publisher’s withholding them. The artists post them before previewsworld.com most times.

Maybe that guy who’s suppose to be uploading the art quit and the new person has to keep taking breaks from loading up boxes of comics on the shipping docks to go and upload them periodically throughout the day?

It’s a combination of problems tbh. Part of it definitely is Magento and how indexes work for it (especially with a pre-order system in place). But part of it is also that even when running stock indexes is sped up, people constantly add/drop/re-add stuff from pre-order shifts things to showing back as in stock even if it was only in stock for like 10 seconds. And stuff is quicker to show in stock than out of stock for whatever reason. The only real solution to fix THAT would be to stop letting people remove stuff from pre-order for the first 24 hours but then that leads to even bigger issues because there’s a lot of people who add things on accident, click the wrong cover, etc. that would lead to more need for CS to intervene.

It seems like it sometimes takes a whole day for it to show ‘sold out.’

Today something was apparently broken with the cron until we noticed it when Good Boy went up so things weren’t indexing right.

Yeah, that makes sense as well. I guess people should consider this in comparison to say, Midtown as the only pre-ordering they allow is during Previews before they actually put in the orders, so it’s virtually unlimited quantities, no reason to index that. Then when it comes time to buying, it’s just a countdown on the total number they put in their system, so no real reason to keep indexing that as they likely just take the hits directly to the database on the total tally.

Maybe you all should just do away with pre-orders on ratios and make all us nerds suffer by all rushing the site each week after you’ve gotten word on how many you actually received when you add them for grabs at a certain time… Muhahahahaa… everyone hated me already, now that hatred will be even greater for even speaking of such things!

Is there going to be a 9.8 option on Good Boy?

No. With how low the run size is for it and the variants it didn’t make sense to do a graded option with the overage that needs to be sent in for grading to make sure you get enough 9.8s.

Looking forward to this !!!
