New Variant Ratios on TFAW

No Idea, makes for boring posts in this thread. There really isn’t a ton of interesting Marvel books out this week. I would say another light week but people complain that I say its another light week

I don’t think Anthony looks at CHU users as sheep (maybe Poyo ). I do think TFAW has to re-think their ratio pricing and overall customer service. That is more wishful thinking than anything else. Ratios were cheaper on TFAW not long ago but I think they changed owners and prices went up. I forget if that’s the case so I may be wrong. That being said, I don’t think TFAW gives a rats — when it comes right down to it. I don’t order nearly as much as I used from them to and still get poorly packed boxes or overstuffed Gemini mailers that get damaged in transit every now and then. This always happens far more often than any other online dealer/site. One would think that would concern them, but apparently not so much. I’ve reached out to them many times and they have even told me it is on my end with my local post office… even though I moved a while back and the same issues happen. They are just a big eye roll to deal with at times.

With that said, I have no problem with sites like CHU getting some extra revenue to help pay for their costs running the site but also hope in time they find better options than TFAW. As it stands, just like anywhere else, if you find a book that can make you some money…even through TFAW, buy it and sell it. They aren’t going anywhere any time soon most and seem to refuse change and make things better if it alters their bottom line, so a person might as well use them to their advantage when the opportunity comes up even if it is just sometimes.

Unless people want a ton of ads, I do use affiliate links to help pay the cost of the site. I have been very clear about that. There are basically three spaces for comic book affiliates, TFAW, Mycomicshop, and eBay. I use them all and all have various pluses and minuses. In the end, CHU remains free for everyone to use, but me, I carry all the costs for running the site and the forum. What I can say is the links show how many people click to look. Just because someone clicks doesn’t mean they buy or have to buy. I would love a 100% click to purchase ratio. It falls somewhere close to 5%. This is full transparency.

With that to be said this is the new ratio variants on TFAW, so I post ratios that people may be interested in on this thread. I also do it for Mycomicshop. I take the time to do these because 1. People may be Interested and 2. If someone does purchase something they may be interested in, then I help offset the costs of running the site.

So where does that leave us? I can stop doing them but people seem to like to look at what is available and then I have to increase the amount of ads that run on the site, or, if you don’t like these types of posts you can choose to not read them.

And with that out of the way, I will not be accused of preying on my readership, trying to rip them off, because one person does not like the way a store prices their comics. It would be like going into someone’s shop and yelling at them they are ripping off their customers (sheep) for what they price their comics.

This all seems to stem from me posting the dynamite covers for Space Ghost. A book that most people will not be buying a lot of variants from and released by a company that many people just ignore because of the amount of covers they put out.

I like all the information that I can get, staying ahead of the trends and staying with the trends. It makes me an educated buyer and seller. What you do with the information is your choice, nobody is making you click the mouse button.

I appreciate the links Anthony posts. I’ve had good experiences with TFAW so will continue to use them. In the end I make the decisions on what to buy on what I like. Buying things pre foc and getting a discount while helping the site that frequent every day is a nice bonus.

My gripe with TFAW is they don’t update their FOC dates if they change and by the time I write an article and look for links to help this site out they are no longer available, even though I pretty much only provide links to open order books anyway. People can support their local shop if they want too and ignore the links.
