Yeah I honestly ignored all store exclusives I coulda got them all but but I want the rarest book avail and I feel like the 1:100 is the book to grab bill at Econ comics told me that’s the one that will have lowest print number you confirmed as much. The codex covers are absolutely filthy though don’t get
Me wrong. Just the way he looks will bring the dough so hopefully Cates writes him to be
Important. I guess the symbiotic avengers bringing Virus to him is a good signifier. Maybe he is The Batman Who Laughs to Knull minus the whole object of your fears thing of course just like how BWL was the number one for Barbatos back in Metal.
Is anyone looking at Venom 28? It’s been sold out for awhile now.
See you can guarantee the 1:100 is ridiculously low amount of copies. I can find legit every codex cover of 27 for pretty damn cheap on eBay. It’s insane how many codex covers are avail for this I thought about getting the jonboy virgin but no way it’s less than 1000 copies total this book is so ordered it’s not even funny. I think ratio will end up with highest price. Look at first full punchline she ain’t on the cover Joker is. That’s always going to be the big book long term He’ll Arisen 3 while 92 1:25 sits on the shelf somewhere. But the codex covers are all superbly sick. Ima keep one 1:100 sell the other. If my goal was to bank I’d be buying multiples of every thing lol so if flipping is your game your not doing it wrong by any means.
Marvel makes you do 3000 for an exclusive. That’s why most are 3000 on the trade.
THANK YOU COMP. so every exclusive has to be 3 thousand your not the first to tell me this. So any codex cover has to be at least 3k then right?? That means the 1:100 will definitely be the rarest book.
Unless I missed something, where did we confirm the one vs two Robin situation?
I’ve seen confirmation from someone who contacted DC who officially gave a statement saying the origin of robin king in legends is for the same robin king we see in death metal 3. So that’s what DC is saying at least. I guess it’s not as confirmation as WE like our confirmation in this hobby. But all’s igns point to him being the robin king of death metal thus far. Can’t say 110 percent till dm3 obviously or when those pages leak a week before.
3000 trade dress. Most of the store exclusive virgin covers are 1000 or less and that is why everyone wants the virgin covers.
I see I see. I still think the 1 100 ends up the rarest just cuz stores are ordering this book out the ass and I think most of the numbers will be above what we are hoping but shit I’ve been wrong plenty of times before so
You are likely referring to the screen shot I posted from Key Collector. It doesn’t exactly say that and doesn’t confirm a ton as DCs definitions and collectors definitions of full can be different.
But if you are under the assumption that the RK in legends is the same as DM3, then you’ve got it backwards. Alana was wrong (shes pro 2 robins) and Poyo was right (he’s pro 1 Robin).
Also it makes the 1:25 Legends even bigger as that means Legends is likely the first full so Alana made out pretty well on her 4 1:25 purchases. Ha.
Typically you’d be right. The 1:100 would be the cover.
Now with 547 exclusives, and each ordering at least 4000 copies (3000 trades, 1250 virgin is typical) thats 40+ 1:100s for each exclusive so this particular 1:100 print run will be higher then the normal 1:100.
And while approximate print run is important, demand is the biggest thing. The cover on the 1:100 has two big things against it. 1, it’s not new art it’s the sketch of the regularly available B cover. And 2, no Codex on the cover (which if Codex does blow up it’s important). So it’s really hard to say how this one plays out.
FOC ended about 2 weeks ago. I don’t think it was as heavily ordered as you think. Cover A was kind of blah, but it’s inline with the future story arc with the flying cars. Cover B (Stegman’s) is cool looking, but it doesn’t go with the current story at all. Plus Stegman’s cover was revealed about 24 hours before FOC not leaving a lot of time to react.
I think a lot of people were expecting Codex to have his first full in 28 due to the 29 cover release and the 28 cover still being under wraps.
With my purchase on the 27’s I did “gamble”, but the description of 27 gave me confidence.
Anyway, I think the 1:100’s will be pretty low print.
You know what. Your probably right I very well saw your link above LOL I’m sorry I work 8 hours every day and I check forums at lunch so that makes a whole lot sense. And in regards to poyo vs Alana, LOL, I apologize if I mixed the two up once again work rules my life so I cannot deny that during my breaks I mixed the two up in regards to the debate over our beloved new Robin. My apologies if so I’ll take your word for it as I’m too lazy to go through it all and confirm
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=venom+27+&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&_pgn=12&rt=nc
I see a shit ton if not all of the avail 1:100 covers sold like candy so I feel okay for now. Key words: for now. The fomo is deadly. I almost popped off on the jon boy virgin but I’m not so sure it’s worth it as without buying the CGC confirmed grade if they come in under a 9.8 my ocd will destroy me. The 1:100s I have shop owners finding the best copy avail. Is the job boy a UK artist or why were people having to order it over seas? Or am I mixing his cover with someone elses
Venom 27 had a lot of heat coming out of Venom 25/26 and no Codex in 26. People were going heavy on both 27/28.
Another part of the early spec was Alea Bell (new Venom in Venom 2099 one shot). The flying cars on the cover of Venom 27 matched those in Venom 2099 which climbed that one shot from a cover price book to $15-20 on the A/B and shot that 1:25 pretty high.
So there was some early heat pre FOC on 27. Venom is pretty heavily ordered as well and it was coming on the heals of two winners.
No. It’s just the US sites were sold out on the virgins. You can still get trades from the US.
Typically exclusives are split between a few stores. There’s a couple UK stores that US stores partner with like Sad Lemon and 7ate9.
I think the ultimate winner from 27 will be the Blue Knull Infinity Gauntlet’s. That book is so sick in its own right. Now it’s a Codex first full appearance too? Oh damn. It’s fire…
Hell yes I remember bill at economics comics said the 1:100 didn’t show up till day before FOC. So you could be right. He is a spec master in my book and he says 1:100 is the best option and he knows of all the virgins cuz he goes through EVERY variant cover available especially for a book as hyped as 27. He says 1:100 is the book despite codex covers but Comp is right the market decides and it may value the codex covers problem is there are so damn many options for this book. But I think 1:100 is a super safe bet I think it will be one of if not thee lowest option. Ebay sure seems to be paying highest for that book in raw over the virgin Jon boy or anything else so.
So how does splitting exclusivity between stores affect print count. Do they split the 3k trade and 1000 virgin? Thanks for all this info by the way very kind of you to be willing to help a fellow collector educate himself!
By the way we finna put the robin king thread to shame
