Wait … your a man?
Yup, ask your wife. She knows how much of a man I am after I left your house last night!
I used to collect sports card, and I totally understand what you mean… I think.
Basically, the sports cards hobby is all about rarity, but really it is false rarity. It’s this notion that you have a base (Cover A) Michael Jordan card… but you also have “variants” with different colored borders around the photo. Red might be /1000, blue /500, orange /250, all the way down to 1/1… people lose their minds but then the trading card company issues a different set, different design but same players, same photos, same colors. People chase those too. In sports cards it’s a total blind bag, but the more expensive the set / box the better the pulls are from the blind bag… but not necessarily more valuable. I won’t even get into the whoring out of rookie players. My God, it should be considered a form of prostitution and made illegal.
Sports cards are a really sleazy, slimey industry and hobby. There are good, honest people but it seems like more and more people just want to make a dollar any way they can, doesn’t matter who they screw over or how they con someone. I had to get out of the hobby due to the political crap that swirls around sports nowadays, my lack of caring about sports anymore due to all the politics, and the oversaturation of products…
Ahhhh. Thats what she was talking about when she told me she was in the mood for a tiny weiner…
Not all weiners are tiny…
Alright, back on topic…
Here is 15 people Venom has killed one may be virus?
That ain’t a wiener, that’s a Christmas ham!
If you ordered the Jonboy Meyers cover for Venom #27, it looks like it won’t be shipped until 8/24. So, if you ordered it from one of the UK sellers, it probably won’t be in hand until September.
If you haven’t ordered Venom #27 yet, Midtown has next weeks books up. Venom #27 limit 1 per customer.
It’s going for 200 almost now. It’s easily the most expensive of the all the covers raw. People love ratios because you can guarantee said ratio will ultimately have a lower print run. The 1:100 will absolutely be fire I love the sketch despite it not being codex.
Ratios for Venom are not low print. Stores are wise now and mass produce store variants to get the high-end ratios
So many stores have been doing Venom exclusives and that’s 40 1:100 ratio variants not counting the variants they receive for ordering the regular covers.
The 1:100 across 100,000 print run will absolutely have a lower print. Do the math. Whether people want that over the store variant covers is up for debate.
If codex has the first full appearance in venom 27 should then not the Cover “VENOM #27 Tyler Kirkham Negative Variant” be the best bet ? I mean thats would be first appearance with cover ?
The 1:25 2nd print Venom #27 will have a lower print than the 1:100 first print if you are about rarity.
Unless there’s a first appearance and or the first appearance of the character is on such “ratio” cover, most of the time ratio variants are bad investments… in special cases, yes, they’re going to have a smaller print run than said regular cover obviously but sometimes they can get so far out of reach for some collectors, if investing, buying X amount of the regulars for cover price is the wiser less riskier move. Unless you get your ratios at cover, never buy at the ratio retailer price range unless you got a really good idea and chance it’s going to turn out to be an ultimate winner book.
