Marvel saw those goofy big time collectibles logo variants and decided to do one of their own, , 1:300 version doesn’t have trade dress

What’s going on with Venom 23 anyway? More than just a new Toxin I presume.

Toxin is going to be the “Hobgoblin” of the Spidey books where we have gone through 5 guys as Hobgoblin.
I can’t believe they are doing 1:100, 1:200, and 1:300 for a book that is currently not doing much. Don’t get me wrong, I have been reading this run of Venom, but it is nowhere hear as exciting as the Cates Venom run. To have these high ratio variants, not many comic stores are going to buy 100-300 copies of this current Venom run. Even my LCS where they own 3 stores have cut down on books like Venom. I have the first appearance in Venom vs Carnage in a 9.8, guess that will suffice for me as much as I really like the Lashley 1:200, guess I’ll just stick with the trade dress.
It boosts sales. They know retailers act like consumers and chase these ratios…

This. And it incentivizes store exclusives as they would get at least 10 copies of the 1:300, turn around and sell them for $300+ each…that’s $3000+ right there before they even begin destroying a bunch of their own store exclusives so they can justify a $40 price tag for a limited 500 “release”.

So besides there being a brand new Toxin in #23 which was the original hype, we are also going to see a new symbiote that bonds with Black Widow. Guess we will see how this all goes.
Wonder if this will add even more interest with Venom #23.
Looks Like she’s getting “symbiotted” on the cover of 26.

I thought the same thing when I first saw it lol.
The more of the images I see online with this new symbiote + suit design, I have this feeling it might be the way that they bring Knull back. I could very well be wrong here. Look at Bedlam, the dude looks like Carnage on super steroids with the symbiote being permanently attached to him.
