The force is like magic - just when you think you understand it, you dont ! Its like time-travel, multiverses, magic, feelings, etc, - no rules !
My understanding is using the force on those also strong with the force has it’s limitations.
tl;dr “space magic”
Everyone thinks being a villain is so easy.
I’m going with the “Vader wants to track down the rest of the Jedi Underground Railroad” theory until proven otherwise.
My coworker also pointed out that Vader stated he wanted Ben to suffer and that his pain had only just begun. Maybe, he’s making a game of it, extending his enjoyment like a psychopathic killer.
Which is why I said everyone thinks being a villain is so easy.
It takes dedication. Bring a true villain means toying with your heroes. Make them feel like they have a fighting chance to win then sit their ass back down again…Break them down mentally over and over. Take away things that matter to them. Keep them Alive while they beg to end their suffering.
Ben left Anakin to die a smoldering carcass. He enabled Darth Vader. Why would Anakin NOT want to drag this out and “thank him.”
No, it’d be a much better story if Vader just walked right up to a weak old man in a defenseless position and just take him down with a single swing. Good thing that won’t happen…
Oh wait…
At least when you’re a bad guy you don’t have to run unless you want to. Jason never runs, he just keeps walking after the hopeless teens. Freddy never runs, he just pops up in your dreams. Etc.
Following on from the last post about the possibility of introducing Cal Kestis in an upcoming episode of Obi-Wan, there look to be more hints surfacing that support this theory.
The novel Star Wars: Brotherhood from Mike Chen (released just a few weeks ago), hinted that both Obi-Wan and Anakin have interacted with Jaro Tapal and “a red-haired youngling”, prior to the events of Revenge of the Sith and Jedi:Fallen Order. The author has since confirmed that this was in fact Cal.
The latest episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi (Part III) dives deeper into the anti-Imperial network, who are an operation who rescue Force-sensitive children from the Empire. This aligns with the plot of Jedi: Fallen Order, where Cal was in search for a Holocron with the location of Force-sensitive children.
We know that this movement includes Quinlan Vos, and interestingly, a unique force power that both Quinlan and Cal share is Psychometry; which is an ability of acquiring information about people or events associated with an object by touching it. This skill (video below) has helped Quinlan become an expert tracker. As a fun fact, along with that skill, they both also seem to have a thing for Nightsisters.
Could we see Cal develop these skills with training from Quinlan, and also work with him on rescuing survivors of Order 66?
Im going to be really interested to see if they find a way for some fan favorites to
- Survive post Battle of Yavin and
- Have a logical reason to not know Luke or be involved in the OT story.
I know we’re getting that with Ahsoka but we still don’t know where she was during that time. I personally would love some of them to be off fighting a different battle (no clue what though) so we can get more Jedi post Return of the Jedi. But I know many would think that if they had a non Vader/Empire/Palp threat to deal with that it would take away from the OT.
I also think having more Jedi cruising around after ROTJ takes away from Luke’s academy that Ben burned down. Wouldn’t these other Jedi be there to help Luke train a new generation?
Man, this show is turning into a Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz fest
I assume there will some explanation as to what they are being preserved in? It’s weird they didn’t go with carbonite or something. I half expected Obi to start freeing folks and then he said that it was a tomb. I pray that isn’t Mace.
Like Jurassic Park, maybe they’ll be cloned…
Or like peter and miles, prepare for star wars: the clone wars! Wait a second…
You’re right, cloning could be the most plausible use of preserving those Jedi.
It would be hilarious if they panned over Mace like all the others and provided no explanation.
I’ve really enjoyed the series so far but this episode felt off to me. I’d really like to see them add some more exposition. Especially on 32-34 minute episodes. Not like they had to trim it to fit a schedule.
An extended conversation on Jamiim w/ Roken, Wade, and female pirate about helping Kenobi and what they do exactly on Jabiim would have made the ending far more impactful.
And they still have not gone into Reva’s backstory at all aside saying she was a jedi but that’s hardly unique. We’ve connected the dots that she’s likely the girl from the opening scene but it would be nice to get a little in show backstory. I feel like people would embrace Reva much more if we knew anything at all about her.
Also no mention from Team Darkside about Kenobi escaping from Vader and where the Grand Inquisitor is. Those were a part of the climax of ep 2 & 3 and, while I know the writers didn’t forget about them, they seem to be avoiding talking about them in the show.
We’ll likely get some but not a fan of waiting until the last two episodes to get backstories on characters who play an important role in the show. Especially if the show is 30 min. On the other hand I thought episode 3 did a great job of doing this when in the same house.
It’s star wars so I still very much enjoy watching the show but the lack of exposition in a very short episode is super confusing to me.
It’s not Mace Windu, because Anakin severed his right hand before his death.
