Obi-wan kenobi series to begin production in april, cast revealed

That’s not Fifth brother that’s inquisitor I have the spinning clock just like his lightsabers in the trailer. Fifth brother wears a hat and doesn’t have a white face.

This is all I could think of after watching the trailer.

Rae Sloane?

Yeah, that article is wrong.

Yeah that’s Rupert Friend as Grand Inquisitor.

That article implies they are the same, yet here they are together…

If that’s the case, whoever wrote that article is, well…an idiot.

They are. One of the other scenes clearly shows the Fifth Brother walking around and he has the hat just like in Rebels. These tools that write these articles don’t know what the hell they are talking about half the time. They just want to be so hip and trendy and get some crap out for clicks.

Yup, it’s definitely the Grand Inquisitor!

The only problem with this series is the “suspense”. Obi-wan doesn’t die. Uncle Owen doesn’t die. The Grand Inquisitor, Fifth Brother, and Seventh Sister do not die. We know all their fates from Rebels and EpIV. Not sure what’s on the line. Luke isn’t even really in danger, obviously.

I was kind of hoping for some Obi-wan vs Tusken Raiders stuff like No Country for Old Men with Star Wars vibes.

Doesn’t really look like Sloane.

This was my issue with War of the Bounty Hunters and a lot of the Star Wars comics that take place between the OT episodes. We know how things turn out.

Well I had no idea where the hell they were going with the sequels and that didn’t turn out too great either.

I have a feeling it’s going to be a lot of Obi-Wan watching Jedi die and knowing he can’t do anything to stop it. Possibly some on-screen deaths of Jedi we’ve theorized their whereabouts after Order 66 like Quinlan Vos

Yes, but I have been advocating for more stories during 19 & 32 years on either end of the OT. Sure, we know that eventually the Emporer is destroyed and the first order rises, but a lot can happen.

Kenobi is right up my alley. I guess my comment wasn’t written correctly. I should have said I have similar issues with Star Wars but it looks like Kenobi won’t be on that list?

Yeah, that was a big miss. The 2 seasons of Resistance made me understand the First Order and its motivations more than the movies ever did.

I understand people probably gave up on that show halfway through the first season, but it really hit its stride the last part of the first season.

I need to give it another chance. Rebels and Clone Wars all took some time to immerse into upon first viewing.

Why does someone have to die, or the potential to create suspense?

I have a feeling there will be plenty of deaths. Did Luke and Ben ever meet? He’s likely discovered on tatooine, but what events and situations occurred which allowed him to not be discovered by Vader? Will Quinlin Vos finally be more than a background character? Will boba fett or other bounty hunters come into play? We know Black Krrsantan has to, anyway. Swing and a miss if he doesn’t.

I’m in suspense already!

I did and was glad I did. Filoni did create it, and like his other creations, it took a bit to get into. Part of that, I think, is because he had to make it kid-friendly/accessible enough to get the breathing room he needed to tell the story he wanted to tell.

I think with Resistance, he created the show to help clean up and make sense of some of the mess created by the sequels. I don’t think he was as involved as he was with CW and Rebels, but I could be wrong.
