Odds and Ends

They look to include it in the total money reported as income to you.

Need to match transaction to these. I believe the add it in to what they report you earn.

So I just woke up in the middle of the night from my old man nap and found out the sports world has been rocked by the biggest sports trade story in perhaps history (no hyperbole).

Dallas just traded mvp candidate and perrennial allstar/all nba Luka Docic at 25 years old to the Lakers for a package that makes no sense. Social media is rocked and people are calling for an investigation into corruption into the nba. Wonder how @D-Rog is feeling?

I was doing my yearly reduction of my comics and pulling ones to sell and I was wondering what people selling strategies are? Normally I don’t list any books for sale that are under $10, but I was wondering if anyone does high volume sales with lower end books listed at $3, $4 or $5? I have a basement full of probably 2 to 3 thousand books in that range. Is it worth the hassle to list them with a stock listing and a cheaper shipping method like two pieces of cardboard and a mailer bag?

Make runs of sequential books. Easiest way to move them online. If you want them gone quicker and a price you’ll like (opposed to selling to a dealer) put them out for $1 each (maybe 5 for $4) at a garage sale or think about setting up at a local show using the same pricing strategy.

You can list individually if you have the time, but the time to scan, grade, list each book can be a hassle.

I sell at a flea market now, have done it several times. I sell $3 bagged and boarded books. These are all books worth less than $10. I do sell $10 books and up on eBay and Mercari.

This.

A good chunk of my January sales was taking books I may have been able to sell in the $7-$10 range, and bundling them up in lots that averaged $4-$5 each. I had paid only $1 or were given to me, so it was practically free money.

I need to move some other books…moderns I bought to read but now realize I’ll never get to them they’re so far back in the order of priority.

Otherwise setting up at a local show or flea market, although I haven’t done that yet…

Have a lingering cold that’s kept me from getting a good nights sleep this past week, but thanks for asking.

As far as the NBA, I have no real feelings for the nba as it really doesn’t interest me…I’ll pay more attention to Curling than NBA. I love Curling, actually.

He confused you with me… and I think it’s just dumb. Anthony Davis sucks and so does the new Mavs owners. What a bunch of turds…

I don’t think he did because I’m pretty sure I’ve made comments about the NBA being corrupt in the past here.

He knew I was a Mavs fan though…

Yeah i must’ve been confused while still groggy in the middle of the night still shocked by the news. You just don’t trade the 2nd, at worst 3rd best player in the league who just hit 25, hasn’t hit his prime that just went to the finals this previous season. Trades like this just don’t happen, 29 other teams would’ve beaten that offer and would’ve made their entire roster and draft assets available.

The fact that Dallas didn’t even shop him around is unbelievable. The Mavericks Instagram account has lost 700k followers within the first 4 hours after the trade broke. Reddit and social media is filled with outrage with people quitting the team. An absolute PR disaster.

Cuban would never had allowed this trade. The new owners are turd muffins. AD is good but what… he misses around 30 games a season most years now it seems, spends too much time on the injury list.

My Mercari sales have been really strong since they changed the fee structure. Balancing it between sellers and buyers (or screwing both). I think the fees are still less than eBay and you get people who use it like social media who like it but never go and buy it.

i know politics is not a loved subject here but it has crossed over into comics atm…

Cars, electronics, pretty much everything thats imported/exported…

Good thing comics have that cover price right on the cover…

What are shops gonna do ? Put a sign on the front door saying comics are 25% higher at checkout ???

Better get your discounted preorders in now. In a weeks time, shops could stop offering that discount…

My concern is if these tariffs stick around and aren’t like a short term squabble all the sudden comics are going to jump up another dollar in a couple months. Between the tariffs and Diamond’s bankruptcy I could see this really hurting some small publishers. A perfect storm…

I think you’re on to something, David

trump said he would double tariff if canada did their own, which they did last night, so we could see a 2 dollar increase to each comic in a month

You should be more worried when you look at how much oil Canada sends to the US.
