Odds and Ends

I enjoy hockey cards. It isn’t a hobby with much fakery, as it is NOWHERE near the level of value for some other sports cards. I also like non-sports cards as they are fun. Marvel, DC, other random stuff like Conan comics has one coming out. There was an outer-space one with astronaut signatures. Interesting stuff.

Thanks for shearing. I think I’m going to wait to buy it on DVD at a used DVD store. Or Netflix 5 years from now lol.

Red Rocks is such a cool venue, I’d sit there too and
Just enjoy the scenery around me.

I couldn’t follow most of it. Poor grammar, incomplete sentences. But just reinforces my position don’t buy autos unless you’re witnessing it personally.

a dead body was found at one of the locations of the police raids. At the time of this writing, the identity of the body was not released.

What’s that all about?

I will say he was true to scale too.

Finally found some comic books in Maine. Granted they are World’s Smallest comic books. Been looking for these in the Wild for years now.

Grabbed Transformers #1, #5 and G.I.Joe #1.

Would send these in to CGC but they’d likely find a way to bend them in half in the slab…

So I am down in Virginia this weekend for a baseball tournament with Joe. My wife is still at home recuperating with my younger son, y mom stopping in and my wife’s mom stopping in. So in between games I go to lunch with two of the coaches and we are goofing off at subway. I always look for comic shops in my area and hit up one place already this weekend and found some Fright Night vol 1 I needed. All and all already a successful weekend with Joe balling all out and finding some Now Comic back issues I needed. Any way. Today out at lunch at subway and there is a comic shop next to us that does not appear on Apple Maps. The owner said they are in a fight with Apple to get listed. They have 12 $1 bins out front. Some new books, some reasonably priced back issues. I asked the two coaches (who know I love and sell comics) if they mind if I look before I got back. They said no. We walk over. They said I don’t think you are going to find anything on the cheap as these guys know their stuff. I said I always find stuff. In their $1 bin filled with crap (and I love crappy 90’s comics, like bad girl and real off beat publishers, I find one of these in NM condition)

So I turn to the guy Rob and said, remember when you said I wouldn’t find anything because these guys know their stuff? And showed him the book and the estimated price. I said I guess I know my stuff a little bit better.

My best luck at finding hot books are the indie section. Most shops just care about Marvel and DC and pay no mind to the indies.

Found this baby in the back issue bin for cover price $2.95 lol just this week. Good ol Bruce Timm. I’m keeping this one as it’s pretty much a 9.8. Going to perform a little bit of voodoo magic and submit for grading when the time is right. Goes for big money in a 9.8.

This made some hot list or other a while back. Has just been lodged in my brain ever since.

The picture was taken from my son’s high school baseball field.

I was in Sheetz last night and they had a rack of DC comics. This is the first time I’ve seen this. It looked to be all #1 issues. I did not see it until I was leaving so I just quickly flipped through a few. I don’t know if they were 1st prints, reprints or are they bringing newsstands back. Have any of you seen these?

I have heard of these but do not have a Sheetz near me. They are like 3 packs of comics or something for a couple of bucks.

Holy Sheetz.

(I’ll see myself out…)

These are all over the US now. Gas stations, groceries stories, etc.
