I got another Stxy song for tonight’s FOC…stay tuned!
You know what drives me nuts? Everything is probably the best answer, but I never buy off eBay. When I sell I shop either same day or the next day at the latest. I purchased something on the 3rd and the guy still has not mailed it yet. Impatient, sure, but I try to get my stuff out as soon as possible others seem to like to hold their books.
Also I loved The Whole Kilroy Was Here Album. First record I bought.
I think I have an original press. Or first press…whatever the term is.
I purchased it from a little record shop where my mom would go grocery shopping. The place was near an arcade and a hobby shop. My little $5 a week was well spent in that mall.
My younger son has been wanting to ride his ebike to school. It was nice today so I went with him on my older boys bike. We get to the school and his battery is about dead. Didn’t charge it from all the riding he didn’t say before. Told him I would go home, get my backpack and come back for the battery. Got some work done and grabbed my bag and out on the road again. Had a great ride going there. It’s fun to tool around at 40 MPH on the ebike. Anyway I decided to try the sidewalk out on the way home. Much slower and have to deal with people. That’s where my problem came in. I was going down the sidewalk guy on an ebike is coming at me. I moved to the left, he did not move to the right. Instead he panicked and came at me. I swerved caught the handle bars on the fence next to me pulling my wheel into the space between the fence and the sidewalk. Bike came to a stop.
It happened in slow motion. Didn’t cuss. Just bike stopped and flipped. Launching me in the air over the handle bars and into the sidewalk below.
He didn’t stop. Just kept going.
I am laying in the ground. Feeling things out. Does anything hurt? Not really. Can I stand? Yes.
I get up. I am dripping blood all over the sidewalk. Major road rash on my hands knees and elbows. Thankfully I don’t hit my head or face. I finish the ride home pissed off.
Came out pretty ok for an almost 52 year old man who was just launched off a 250 motor bike.
I landed on my wallet. I have a metal wallet with an air tag attached. That’s the only part that really hurts. Landing on that damn wallet. Bruised the shit out of my thigh.
Glad you are okay. People are d~icks.
What an ass not even stopping to see if you’re okay.
The garbage man on the street came over and checked on me. A hole didn’t stop.
Oh man, sounds like you had it better off than myself a few years ago when I was running around Ladybird Lake in DT Austin with the dog.
So I’m running the trail and have to pass some girls walking, which is normal but one girl has her dog on a leash but not tight or under control, as I’m passing by, her dog shoots out to cause me to avoid colliding with it, my dog is to the left already but of course freaks out but I practically have to jump over the dog to avoid basically clobbering it to death or hurting myself more but as I’m basically jumping sideways last second avoidance, I lose my footing in the gravel trail and land flat on primarily my hands and then my left knee.
So as I’m getting up, I noticed my hands are trashed and burning now… and the girls are like, are you okay? I look down and there’s blood dripping everywhere so I hold it up and say, “No, I’m not okay” while the blood was dripping all over. At this point I could keep going or turn back cause I was like 2 miles in my 4 mile run route I take there, but I just turn back and drip the whole way to my car where I had towels to wipe up so I could drive home. Of course it’s winter time so none of the water fountains have running water to help clean off any blood.
But what irked me is the girls just kept walking basically like nothing happened when she knew it was her dog I avoided and practically had to jump over or I would have injured it as well probably. Not a sorry or anything… can we help you?
Here’s the results:
Left hand had most of the skin removed. Right hand had a little but mostly felt like rocks dug into my skin. Took months to fully heal and being a person who works at a computer, it really sucked as I had to hold my wrists up cause the first few weeks it hurt just to lay them flat while typing.
The urgent care nurses were cleaning out small bits of rock from my hands, the pics were after the initial cleaning at the clinic. My knee got banged up to and there was blood seeping through my pants when I arrived at the urgent care as well. That day and couple of months sucked.
Sounds like he needs to watch out for jerky Joe and his e-bike.
Damn glad you’re ok @Anthony… what a douche for not stopping to check on you. Same goes for those girls @agentpoyo.
So this past weekend I went to King Kon primarily for the Sozomaika signing. But Ryan Browne was there too, so I brought some Curse Words to get signed. I never look up what artists look like. So how could I know it was a different Ryan Browne? With the e at the end and everything. Embarrassing, but we had a laugh about it. Apparently the other Ryan Browne looks like him and their wives have the same name too.
I’m glad both of you guys are ok.
I was bandaged up pretty good at this point
I hope you recover quickly. This reminds me when my mother fell and cut her head right above the eye and bruised her knee. A couple of years ago my Mom (about 87 then) was startled by a Walmart greeter that wanted to check her receipt as she was leaving with my sister who was 55 at the time. She purchased one item and had in a Walmart bag. The guy yelled as she was exiting the store and she got startled & tripped over the door mat. She had to get picked up by an ambulance. The guy ran away after she fell and it was other customers that actually helped her.
I’m sorry that happened, @Anthony!
I’m sorry you got injured before as well @agentpoyo! Clearly you’re kept in the basement for your own safety.
Poyo’s walls and bucket have been padded
No more running either… getting fat down here!
I hope that guy is haunted by it for the rest of his life. Read the room - I don’t care where you work, don’t yell at elderly people.
