Oh That KCC…

Ok, I’m just saying there’s a really good chance that Nick has other sources… That he also won’t give due credit.

Back when I used to write for him he would give credit and then take the credit away after a couple of weeks. That was first thing that rubbed me the wrong way. Then he started using “Informed Speculation” which was the tag line for the main site for years (still is). Long story short there are a couple of things that make me leery. This has all been documented in this thread. Others have complained about the app using their info. But I really don’t care that much to keep this line of conversation going so just going to drop this one here.

Hasn’t read it but one of his picks.

Just curious, how do I know what level I am or if I am within the “inner circle”. Is it under Profile > Summary?

You are trust level 2 so you are part of the “inner circle” trust level 1 is newer members people who recently signed up, or people who haven’t commented much.

So I asked the question about “proof” because I do understand you should get credit for the work you put in. My thought was if there was a means to produce unquestionable evidence the community could put pressure on him to “do the right thing.” And I think there are ways to move forward with that. People/companies will not give anything up unless held accountable.

If you’re just putting it out there so that people can consider it when using his app, thats fine too. It is what it is. And this site will continue to not be acknowledged. Even if it’s not CHU he gets info from, he doesn’t acknowledge anyone…and I highly doubt he’s doing that work at a shop flipping through books on a Tuesday night.

What would be detrimental, in my opinion, is to start limiting access to spoilers as I think that would result in the reverse of what you’re trying to achieve…you would lose hits rather than gain them.

What we really need to do is get the brand name out there. Wear CHU merchandise proudly while going to local shows and big conventions. Buttons, hats, hand out stickers and fliers…grassroots baby! If anyone is setting up at a show especially. Just have them at your table to hand out, if you’re willing to do that.

There’s trust level 3 but you have to basically live here and there’s just a handful.

Yeah, speaking of living here. My room’s heater is wonky in Tony’s house. I know I shouldn’t be greedy, considering Poyo is chained in the basement with barely any clothes, but I’d like my thermostat to be 70 when I set it there. Not 71 or 69. Again, sorry you’re chained downstairs Poyo.

Wait…you have your own room? I’m stuck on the damn porch…sigh…

Signal boost is an interesting choice of words. It made a bunch of “best new book” lists. Issue one has gone through multiple reprints. Is it market manipulation? Who knows. But when the source is doing the same thing with other books like Crying Boy #1 I have to question their motivation.

If you look at sold listings for Assorted Crisis Events #1, it’s pretty obvious what’s going on. But yeah I agree on the other point.

It is market manipulation. No reason for the book to be selling high…

Then on the same day…

The next day…

The day after that…

C’mon ! That is clear market manipulation…

Tons of people listing the 1st print cover A books since January 1st. And hardly anyone is buying at bullshit prices

I looked. I saw what you saw @monopolyjackson I am not one to blankly call market manipulation as I have seen cheap copies sell out at the same time higher priced copies have sold. I certainly wouldn’t be buying copies off eBay right now. But I would be lying if I said I didn’t list my one copy last night.

The really funny thing is the B cover was selling zero copies at cover price and now the B covers are moving because the A cover is moving. One even sold for $10 which is crazy.

Market manipulators pretending to care about the community is nothing new… comictom would do that all the time on books he didn’t have to sell: “hey comic fam here’s a hot 10 list of books you should buy while you can but not this one!! Stay away! I’ll protect you comic fam!”

I’ll race you guys to the bottom!

Found a copy today…now I can list one.

All of the enormous jumps (49.95 to 99.95 to 299.95) came from the same seller, ArtooDaytoa Comics and Stuff. They had been selling several copies at 5.95 to 6.95 to 9.95 just prior.

If I can find one sitting in a bin for cover… anyone can. I’m in a small market here.
It’s an Image #1 book… it’s not like it was an obscure publication or anything.

I guess i could open this ?
