Got my first variant package back from Villain. Had already grabbed some general releases, but this was the first incentive package and it arrived in perfect condition. Well packaged and secure from the boarded variant to the unbagged main covers.
Villain Gaming Ratings:
- Packaging
- Communication
- Shipping time
- Online Ordering/Options (One of the best options if you know you really want a ratio for a certain book. Great variant packages and they’ll add one for you if you ask early enough!)
Yeah, this is a big deal and super helpful. For reference, Westfield does this also, so if anyone is just tired of TFAW, Westfield ships within a couple days and only charges once a month(or more if you choose more frequent shipments)
Mixed feelings regarding my latest TFAW to be ‘processed’. Shows most being processed except the
Star Wars War of the Bounty Hunters Jabba Hutt #1 (Coello Variant)
Star Wars High Republic Adventures #6 (Cover B - Kyriazis Variant 10 Copy)
Sinister War #1 (of 4) (Ngu Variant)
All were ordered Pre-FOC (Frustrated !), but still happy I got the rest of my order processed (my tax + shipping ~ $50 )
My previous order came in all damaged, BUT TFAW CS was great to deal with and refunded the charges, after I sent them pics. Honestly, I would have preferred my books in good condition to the refund, but I commend TFAW on trying to make amends. I am hoping their next order is packaged a little better. I did ask the CS if they could use some bubble wrap around their package, a la Midtown, but he mentioned that they were looking into options, and he did mention that they would indicate the ‘Do Not Bend’ on the package. Full disclosure, I did not request bag/boards for my books, because I dont believe, for the added cost, that they offer any significant protection without a stiffer envelope or bubble wrap around it. Midtown handles this much better for the same or lower shipping cost. Hopefully, the ‘Do Not Bend’ indication makes the mail service handle the package better. Still sticking with TFAW in the meantime, hoping they iron out their issues with shipping, packaging, processing time.
I had the same books in my Pre-FOC that were left off the current “processing” order at TFAW. A little concerned, but I did have ratio left off a previous order (even though I received the other ratios of the same book) that got shipped on the next order. I’m hoping that is the case again and that those ratios will be shipped on the next order.
TFAW gets 1 out 5 stars from me. I ordered 3 copies of a comic that released in Feb. They shipped one of those to me several months later and another one last week. So I paid $20 for those 2 comics w shipping, which should have been about $6 if included with the rest of my order as it should have been.
Add to that, zero communication, zero response to emails and terrible shipping.
I’ve asked them to clear any of my pending pre-orders, also w no response. If they ship anything else, I will dispute the charge.
I’m hoping the same thing (for all of us). I scramble to get a copy of the variants, feel elated to preorder it, then its a hit or miss whether you’ll actually get it.
There’s a chance you might not win that dispute. What you should do is just stop the charge at the bank level (might just have to cancel whatever account/card you have on file and get a new one then it just never succeeds to charge you). Then move on with your life not having to waste your time disputing.
My first order from Villain Gaming. All NM books. I know retailers have a hard time getting Dynamite books in NM condition, so I am very grateful with the Parrillo virgin.
Got my TFAW order in today. All great except they forgot to send me the variant for SIKTC #17. Overall, packaged well with 2 separate bundles in paper wrap.
Also got my Villain Gaming order and all books on NM condition. Thanks @faele
Well I have had to use it a few weeks back. An order did not reflect the correct price after checkout and I was over charged. I sent and e-mail explaining the overcharge (On a Saturday even). I was contacted immediately and informed it was a price glitch and it will be corrected. Within minutes I had the money refunded to my account. Shit happens out of ones control…its what you do after, that shows your true character…and this was 5 Star Customer Service!!
Just received my second shipment from Midtown in a few days. Packed great and shipped fast. My Shang-Chi #3 1:50 is beautiful and was shipped in a hard plastic sleeve. From a value perspective everything was priced well (Curse of the Ebony Blade #1 Hans was less than $20). Maybe most important nowadays, hotter books were shipped with no excuses. 5 all around this time, Midtown. Let’s keep it up and I’ll definitely be back!
My ReedPop J. Scott Campbell Rogue negative space variant just came delivered better than I expected from the horror stories. Shrink wrapped with a board. Placed between 2 larger cardboard and placed in a gemini.
Barbaric #1 polybag variant was shorted almost 300 copies, I asked C’s about it and that’s what they said. I had my pre-order placed 2 months before FOC for that issue, so they must’ve gotten like none. They are awaiting replacements they said
