Frankie’s books are always excellent condition. I don’t use Unknown anymore because they cancelled 3 months of preorders of mine because I complained it was taking them 6+ months to ship books but that was a few years ago.
My experience with Unknown has been horrible. In stock comics not shipped. Pre-orders not shipped and sold out (especially larger pre-orders on books that turned out hot)
Same here. My only pre-order was canceled on me like a month later. So I never bothered ordering from them again.
Base on what people are saying here:
Avoid UNKNOWN Comics unless the book your buying are nothing of value.
Do anyone know if Frankie or Golden Apple cancel your order if your book becomes something of value/KEY.
Or if they (Frankie or Golden Apple) are slow when shipping your books.

Last summer Frankie’s got super far behind in shipping. Not sure if that’s the case. It was a whole ordeal while they were so far behind, they kept doing exclusives though so that kind of irritated consumers I think as it seemed they had their priorities backwards. If you got time to do a bunch of exclusives, you should have the time to get your regular orders out too.
As for Golden Apple, they love to jack prices up. Not sure about ship times but I avoid them because they apparently love tacking on that California tax or something on their books…

Thx for heads up on Golden Apple. I was going to purchase the Sozomaika Poison Ivy exclusive from them. But after hearing about their poor reviews and jacking up prices I’m going to pass. Don’t want to give a store like that my business.

I had one experience with Golden Apple, and they were good. Cant speak for consistency, but the price was fair, and they shipped well and quickly. I would not discount them the first time, if the price and availability matches your needs. Try once, and you have the option of contesting with them or your credit card company if things go south. Then adjust your preference.
I would avoid Word Up Collectibles.
Placed an order with them (first time), got confirmation and then crickets. No replies to multiple emails, and then I filed a chargeback, which was quickly approved.
Speaking of Unknown after 7 weeks my order arrived. These were already in stock. All in great condition except one has slight spine roll starting to form.
The price on these is what made me jump in otherwise I’d probably be more annoyed.

Ordered three books from them prior to release. Quick notification of order processed/completed before and after book released respectively; shipped promptly with email notification, and well packaged items received.

Ordered two books in stock, received email confirming order. No response to my email query sent after a few days. Several more days pass by and then a reply to my second email - that books will be sent in another week.
Few days later, a tracking no. but no actual tracking info. Finally after a week, finally receive books in good condition.
So - Took almost three weeks from online order, to receive two in-stock books. Poor communication.

Received my 1st FOC order from @DarkDominionComics after switching from Villain. It’s always a leap of faith with FOC orders because you’re several weeks into ordering before you get your 1st shipment. I was a little scared when I saw how beat up the USPS package was, but was pleasantly surprised to see a thick cardboard shipping box inside.
All the comics were bagged and boarded and alternated facing to protect them inside the box. It was packed tight with additional cardboard on top and bottom and bubble wrap filling in the gaps. A+ job getting things delivered without damage.
They shipped the books that were available and didn’t hold up my order for pushed books or an omnibus I ordered on the same FOC, which is a huge benefit over some other FOC ordering shops that hold up the entire order until everything is there.
Also included a nice bonus book with my 1st shipment. Definitely happy with the service and look forward to an ongoing relationship.

We sincerely appreciate your patronage @Braainz, well and truly. And I’m actually shocked by the condition of the USPS package, given how close we are to one another (should I be shocked by anything the USPS does though? 
). In any case, I’m so glad the time and care we spend on packaging orders is actually doing the job of protection and safe delivery.

Can’t say enough about Villaingaming. Had an issue with my order and they went above and beyond to fix it. Looking forward to when Villaingaming gets back to foc ordering when things gets less hectic.

That sucks and it’s happening now with a lot of online retailers with hot spec books.
I’ve had 4 refunds, make in 5 now after recent email check on the Aphra #24 books. OOS, website listings are in correct, no excuse, we have 2 copies but they are $10 each…A lot of shady selling going on…

My issue with this is that I also found another source and I had to choose which store to buy from (I live on a limited income). Hip was the bigger name thus my decision.

Has anyone ordered from Pharcyde comics? Their shopify website has been down for a few days and I haven’t got an email or any notifications on what’s going on.
I’ve been doing all my preorders from them and I’ve gotten 2 large deliveries. Books came in good shape, overall satisfied. However I’ve got a bunch of preorders coming up and I can’t access their shop. Their facebook and twitter doesn’t have any notifications that their shop is down, just messages saying how excited they are for NYCC. Waiting for them to get back to me, wanted to place my FOC order for this week and now the FOC is passed.
Don’t like the fact that their shop just disappeared without notice holding a lot of my orders.
are you able to access their shop right now? I feel like I’m in the twilight zone. Their social media acts like nothing is happening but their shop has been down for a few days.
