Online Comic Store Report Card

They’ve been backlogged lately. They normally process stuff on Tuesdays each week but even this week it seems like they haven’t processed books… maybe that’ll happen today. But the 24th was Wednesday before Thanksgiving so they likely processed stuff right before the holidays and are now playing catchup this week to finish up and start this weeks books processing.

They’re plagued by Diamond shipment delays too from what I’ve gathered in the past as well. Maybe @RipCityGamer can chime in…

Mail in my area wasn’t really affected like some other areas but I just recently shipped off a 2-3 Day Priority package where I dropped it off on Dec 1st and it finally departed Austin last night, Dec 3rd. It took 2 days for them to get it from the post office I dropped off at to the main Austin Distribution center where all outgoing city packages go through… normally they drop those off same day if dropped off before 6pm.

I’m definitely seeing this on the inbound side of packages I’m waiting for. It feels like the holiday mail congestion is going to be extra large this year with so many people shopping online rather than heading out to stores.

And dropping off packages in person at family gatherings…

Yeah, last week’s pre-order was a bit behind due to FedEx themselves being backed up in our area and delaying delivery of the weekly shipment, plus the holiday and letting some of the staff take a day or two off for the first time since like March. They should all be finished processing soon, though.

This week’s pre-order we’re likely looking at waiting to process until next Tuesday, so we can just combine the two weeks. That would A) prevent people from being charged shipping twice in one week, and B) let our warehouse catch up to the holiday surge/Black Friday stuff and then get more back on track with getting pre-orders out on time. (Except for the weeks where mother nature decides otherwise.)

Midtowncomics and Unknowncomics with the deliveries. Had to run out but will check on these when I come back. Let’s hope they all arrived ok and no shortages.

That looks like a lot of books lol…

Very rough order from Midtown. No bubble wrap, just the paper bag in a Gemini style box that was set up to hold 5-10 books so lots of room to slide around. Took a corner hit and books jammed up pretty bad.

And as anyone whose dealt with Midtown service knows, they won’t do anything unless you pay out of your own pocket to mail them back.

Had a Midtown package arrive today. Two purchased comics and one copy of the free Future State book. The bagged and boarded comics were in great shape; very pleased with the packaging. The free comic was sandwiched between them, which would have been fine except that they sent me a copy with a crease on the front. :frowning: (my LCS didn’t even order these, so this was my keeper copy). It was free so whatever I guess; I’m sure happy about the other two books arriving safely.

Two big TFAW boxes. About 120 books.

All bubble wrapped. Alternating spines. Well protected. Stacks smaller then usual. About 30ish in a stack.

Much better protection then the midtown order.

My Unknowncomics order… Over 120 books only mess up and not because of packaging marvel printers idk if I even wanna bother about it since I have a couple good copies already.

I’ve noticed in some cases with the free books midtown will sometimes fold the covers. That or I’ve just had awful luck over the years.

No. We have mentioned that in the past. Seems like something midtown does. Do not know why.

It’s been 10 days since Unknown sent me confirmation of my order of in stock variants would be shipping. How long does it normally take them to ship once they send out notification?

I wouldn’t know because I have ordered from them several times but have yet to get an actual order sent to me from them.

I’d like to know as well. I am in the same boat…with 2 orders. A tracking number annnnnnd thats it.

Cause they dont want people reselling… Cause their asses…

Well with this recent order I read the checklist depending on what your ordered I see a few books were schedule changes and they try to wait it out until said book comes if it takes to long they just ship what they have. That’s how I wound up with 3 big boxes this wknd for orders with no close release date.

These are all in stock variants that they had as part of their sale. None were pre-orders

I’m curious as to how many chances Unknown gets before you stop ordering? I don’t have experience ordering from them but have owned some of there store variants. I think they consistently have some of the best must have store variants like this one which I recently sold for a profit.
