to be fair for the death metal speed metal #1, most retailers made a mistake where they listed it as a cover b regular price variant, but it turned out to be a 1:25 incentive so they had to cancel orders, i went through something similar

To my knowledge, itās always been a 1:25 variant in Diamondās/UCS/Lunar system (I might be wrong but I havenāt seen anything tell us otherwise). So they should have known before listing them in pre-sales. This is why you should not list products until you got all the factsā¦ Thatās if they listed them not knowing the full details.

I know of at least a dozen online retailers that advertised these as a regular cover B and then said DC changed it to a 1:25 after they had been told it was an open order variant cover.
If true, sounds like DC and the distributors should be taking care of the problemā¦ thatās if they actually had it listed as open order in their system at any given time.

From what I read and Iād have to fact check. Speed metal was never intended to be a 1:25 variant it wasnt until they changed it after the sales of another book skyrocketed at that time. Now this is early June. Because my LCS was gonna order it after I mentioned it then when news broke they shed light that it was a running change not pre existing
We may have something big coming. My guess is that it will sellout really fast if itās anything like the last Disney book Scorpion put out. Note the @disney and @peachmomoko60.
I have like 18 or 19 of these that I bought for a quarter apiece. Theyāre all in pretty nice shape. Also bought a few of the Spectre #8 glow in the dark covers for a quarter.
To reiterate what Jandreu said above I saw a bunch of large online retailers list it as a open order cover B then have to cancel orders when it was switched to a 1:25. This was a while ago though.
I understand having to cancel those orders, because if you sold X number of copies open order pre-FOC, you arenāt going to receive anywhere close to that amount of 1:25s.
Itās a screw up on Diamond/Lunar/UCS side (I forget the exact timing of it was pre or post switch).

Scorpion and if shows sold out but it might not have gone on sale yet, not sure.
They will probably tell us tomorrow when it will go on sale.
