Peach Momoko

Yes, please send us money to create such variant since I don’t think myself or @Anthony want to risk our own cash for such an endeavor…

BigTimeCollectibles got snubbed for this peach cover.

UPDATE ON CROW LETHE #3 PEACH MOMOKO COVER

We regret to inform everyone that ordered Crow Lethe #3 Peach Momoko that your order will be refunded and will no longer be filled.

Diamond comics and IDW decided to not ship our big order even though it was ordered far beyond the FOC date.

We were told that the reason for not shipping our order is because IDW did not print enough and therefore they pick BTC not to get the copies we ordered.

It is disappointing for all our customers that are waiting for this book.

REFUNDS ARE EXPECTED TO PROCESS STARTING TODAY, 08/26/20.

BTC must be getting punished for something.

It does say they ordered it “far beyond” the FOC date

Yeah idk. Got the email (didnt order the book)

You would be surprised by how detective-y some comic enthusiasts are.
I think the biggest issue would be mass producing the fakes with good imagery (not sure what it is properly called). The printers that the publishers use is from a file, the counterfeits would have to be scanned. I’m not certain, but I believe they are easy to tell apart if you know what too look for.
And you won’t find a Chinese manufacturer that will give you quality. They can make them, but I don’t think they are going to put in any effort to try and make them exact replicas. :man_shrugging:

Have you seen the really good Chinese knockoffs of some luxury brand goods or statues? There is a range of skill, but the good conterfeiters are incredible meticulous. It all depends on their level of motivation which translates into how much $$ they can make. I don’t think they have looked at the comic industry much yet luckily.

They have infiltrated the sports card market. There are decent knock offs, as Alana has mentioned before, but a trained eye can easily spot the differences.

That’s proably because they aren’t motivated yet and have yet to fully moved into conterfeiting western comics. At least from what I’ve seen. The market for fake luxury goods is huge, hence the increase in their expertise. I am sure the current ones are easily spotted, but in the current age of digital printing and high resolution scanner that can even counterfeit currency, reproducing a comic will not be impossible.

I’m not sure they could get the paper quality right…they would also have to invest in a
Machine that would staple them exactly the way it’s done with comics. Because the 3rd party graders (outside of PGX) can detect staple tampering and replacement.

I’m sure the staples and paper is made in China to begin with for modern comics.

If they can counterfeit literal paper money, I’m 99.9% positive if they put their mind to it they could easily counterfeit comics (moderns at a minimum).

I shit you not I’ve seen unused giant rolls of comic paper from the 60s and 70s on eBay before.

The staples maybe, but it would be stupid expensive to import paper when there is so much of it made domestically.

Copy. Good looks

I believe it is Canadian paper. The majority of books are printed in Canada, and it has been that way for a long time. I don’t see a Canadian printer importing from overseas due to Canadas vast forestry/paper industry.
Edit. I did some actual research, and I was way off. It seems to be that most Indies are printed in Canada, and DC and Marvel print in the US. I checked my ASM run, and every ASM #1 from each vol., going back to vol.2, was printed in PA or KY.

These just went on sale at Frankies. I got 1 for the wife
