Well guess that confirms shes doing all the covers.
Ya, she also appears to be doing all of the blade runner ones. I was expecting a slow down by now, but she seems to only be gaining traction.
She was born to draw that comic… the style is right up her alley.
I much prefer the Mead covers here (or the Guinaldo or Royle cover(s)). These Momoko covers are like if Donnie Darko had used “Shiny Happy People” as it’s theme song rather than “Mad World”.
Never seen her draw interiors…well here you go!! New X-men
X-Men Demon Days with Art by @peachmomoko60 featuring Psylocke fighting a Yokai Venom!!!
Turning into artgerm with all these covers. Once the publishers find a hot cover artist, it’s game over for completionist. I see her doing her own store exclusives like Campbell, artgerm, etc.
I really wish cover artists would do the interior art. Like they used to do
Well shes doing it for X-men. And agree I’d like the cover art to be a sample of interior art.
Ordering once it’s available to order, looks awesome. Excited to read this.
Here’s a cool article on that from the Marvel Site:
Time and money. If they can do a cover a day while a 20 page book might take 20+ days to do all the interiors (I’m sure some can do in less time)… I think most opt for just the cover work cause they can keep pumping those out and I’d imagine the cover pays more than each interior page. Might as well do 20 covers in 20 days than 20 interior pages at the likely lower per page rate…
Just got done looking through the March Catalog and here is what I found.
Alien 1 Momoko Variant
Black Knights Curse Ebony Blade #1 Momoko
X-Men Demon Days #1
King in Black Wiccan and Hulkling #1
Trials of Ultraman #1
Usage Yojimbo Wanderers Road #5
Ive loved her Usagi covers.
It’s definitely suits her style for sure…
I like that Wiccan and hulkling cover, has a yin yang type feeling.
I’m good with the Black Knight… although I’d buy regardless as I love me some Knight.
This series further strengthening my theories previously discussed.
Her color palette seems bolder recently - particularly on the Marvel books. She used a lot of pastels when she first started. I wonder if they have an inker working with her.
