Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur #1 1:25 Variant at Mycomicshop
I don’t know. But there’s a comic I want from someone that’s like a $10 book but they want $11 shipping. I’ve tried to get the. To drop the price but they responded with (we can combine shipping!).
Thanks for not actually answering my question…
They don’t except offers. It’s not a book worth more than cover ($5) either…but no one else is selling it. Not paying $11 first class shipping out of principle!
If it’s a book you’ve wanted and it rarely comes up I’d just buy it. What book is it if you don’t mind me asking?
It’s a transformers spotlight book, incentive variant.
I not shows the front cover and the person has not responded to my request for back pictures.
I don’t want to pay more than what it’s worth, only to keep looking for another in better condition anyway.
#4 is one panel and named #5 is 3 in the background panels no dialogue. Both are cameos I would think #4 being first.
Of course it is. Cameo = Description of Actual Appearance. So whichever came first is the first.
I mean, try to explain to someone who isn’t into comics that even though Wolverine in clearly in Hulk 180, named and has dialogue AND we see his entire body, that he doesn’t actually fully appear until the next issue. Dumb!
Covers matter. I think the important thing for return on investment is guessing which issue the market will decide is the one. The rest is just conversation
@agentpoyo @BatmanFan and I all consider cameos an appearance therefore they are a first appearance. It has been written!
Markets can be manipulated. Sure, covers matter but an appearance is an appearance.
I understand the cameo argument for say Punchline in Batman 89, or Thane in New Avengers 10 where there are quick panels and the character is obscured, isn’t named and has a single panel, etc. Hulk 180 is 100% first Wolverine. ASM 299 is 100% first Venom. I’ll die on this hill.
Of course it’s the 1st time they appear but the market decides which one is the more valuable book. The endless argument about cameo vs full really gets a nowhere. Look at Hulk #1. Red hulk isn’t even in the guts
OR the community could come together and set some clear guidelines??
Doesn’t work that way. People won’t care about guidelines. Too subjective
An appearance is an appearance. The one that becomes the most valuable is just that, it’s more valuable based on demand from desirability. Value doesn’t dictate if it’s a “first” appearance or not. That’s my stance, debating someone who says something like Hulk #180 isn’t a first appearance for Wolverine is just being absurd. Did they appear? Yes, so it’s a first. Call it a cameo, call it a brief appearance, call it “he showed up”, but all of those are a type of “appearance”… APAG is the new standard way of classifying appearances… there’s only first, second, third, first cover, second cover… Poyo gonna take the KISS approach… (Keep It Simple Stupid)
That’s a bingo. Market doesn’t care what anyone terms the appearance.
