Will give you some advice as you seem to be stressing, buy all the candidates. We don’t really know. We are all making our best guess based on the information we have. Things could change when the books come out, things could change a book later if he gets killed etc…
Metal 2
Death Metal 2
Legends
Death Metal 3
Are your 4 candidates.
Metal 2 has a variant with the original robin goblins in the cover that you can still get at Frankies. Robin King may first appear as a goblin here.
Death Metal 2 go with the A. There is also a 1:25 and a 1:100. The character that we believe becomes robin king gets offered the job.
Legends right now appears to possibly be the first full and the book. 1:25 will be the best book as RK is on the cover, but good luck finding one reasonably. Otherwise go with the A.
Death Metal 3 becomes relevant if we get a two Robin King situation and the one from DM2 isn’t the one in Legends. The Federicci will be the winner. A cover fine as well. There’s also a 1:25 and 1:100.
I hope that covers your questions for you. Best of luck. Cheers.
We still have Wonder Woman Queen of Hell to come so maybe Death Metal #3 for that, I imagine Robin King and Wonder Queen will get married at some point lol.
Wouldn’t that be funny if on the last page of Death Metal #3 there is a panel where someone vaguely says something about how Wonder Woman should be the Queen of Hell. Then, everyone races to buy a ton of the Guidebooks.
Edit: Actually I think she has always been Queen of Hell. On one of the pages in Death Metal #1 it says Diana’s location is “Hell. Formerly Themyscira”. BWL refers to her as “Diana, Queen of the Underworld” on another page.
I wasn’t gonna buy but… but… now I have to buy… because a first appearance of a Dragon Robin King that is the offspring of Disney’s Figment and Beetlejuice is just…
I’m assume Pterodactyl Robin had something to do with the T-Rex Batman story that was in legends. I thought I remember reading somewhere they pulled that story from Legends due to the Warren Ellis stuff. If so, they likely just didn’t redo the cover.
Here’s 1 of your 2/3/4 copies. We were “shorted copies and had damages” is a common thing lately.
Although I will say I’ve been keeping a list of books they do that too, and several have popped up in my next order fulfilled. So there may be some truth to it.
But I can definitely see some issues with it. Ordered a few more Elsewhere to be safe. Even though i ordered back in like May or June, I’m not sure I’m getting all my copies.
Doh. Was going to order 11 more copies of LotDKs from poor boy and they raised the price this morning to $11.99. So I’m out!
Ordered 11 last night, then had 11 more sitting in my cart this morning at $9.99 a couple hours ago waivering on what to do…decided to pull the trigger and the cost is suddenly $22 more than a few hits ago.
I KNEW that was going to happen. Seems to happen to me a lot lately…
I’m out (but then again I wasn’t in it from the beginning either). My new stance is, if I didn’t order at cover price, I’ll just wait for the next hot comic.
You can make money but I have a feeling 90% of all these copies are landing in speculators hands to turn around and flood the market once in hand… we all know what happens then right? It’s the guys doing pre-sales that win… unless you plan on gambling for the long term and sell’em 2, 10 or 20 years from now… if they continue to heat up.
Speculation is certainly a tricky game. It’s just like trading stocks, one minute you’re flying high, on your yacht and the next minute your begging for spare change on the street corner…
Found an ebay listing for Dark Nights Death metal for a CGC 9.8 for $99.99 plus shipping. Any thoughts on if this is a good deal? I have a couple copies ordered, so I could send them in, but this is a guaranteed 9.8.
