This time around I’ma be guilty of buying a copy of all the one shots and tie-ins going forward with Death Metal. DC wants to play this game where they slip in big characters in other books.
Typically I’d agree, but I’m not so sure in this case. DC has way too much equity and popularity tied into the BWL. It’s way too big of a character to just change him at this high of popularity. Hence why I think the change to the darkest knight may be a temporary one.
But I still think DM 2/3 are keys in both the Robin King and BWK/DK stories and definitely worth it especially at cover. I picked up a few extra DM2 in my last Midtown order.
I agree 100%. And even if we do agree on what is a cameo and what is a full…we still can’t agree on what is more valuable. Some characters it’s the cameo, some its the full
And I don’t think we will really know for sure until DM3 comes out and see how the story progresses will will know for sure.

Well, the market decides that for us… just follow the herd.

DC sucks so either is fine with me… I only buy DC books when I can make money…
Problem with DC’s logic is Legends comes out before DM #3 therefore Legends would be the first full appearance.
They’re also basing it on the type of appearance and the reading order… that’s why it just doesn’t matter. Market decides which is most valuable, the technical definitions are just that… definitions.
100%. I don’t put any stock in them saying DM3 is a full appearance as in that means it’s first full.
That’s for the market to decide. DC’s definitions aren’t relevant and they look at things different.
I think the more telling part was them very much implying it’s all the same character.
I have both Legends and Death Metal 3.
…And Im saying Robin King in Legends is a cameo. DM3 is first full appearance.
And if you ask Snyder Robin Kings first appearance, pretty sure he’s gonna reply with “Death Metal #2”… cause they don’t care about the nerds battling over firsts to argue which book is more important based on the appearance… creators care about the whole story, the whole thing matters and is important to them.
Legends is gonna be the winner even if the robin in dm3 becomes king as this implies that there was another. So still first apperance
Which could be accurate in a sense of describing the types… market might still make Legends the winner though… that’s how it will be and always will be unfortunately.

I got my first two copies in the mail already. A store I found through this thread. Can they still get in trouble for that now that DC isn’t with Diamond?
Possibly, depends on how much DC cares.
