Got my copy of DM 3 Federici and that’s it. LCS had all other copies spoken for before they opened. It’s a really hot book!
The lcs had ~20 copies on the shelf with a one per customer limit. The shop wasn’t bombarded like when Legends released though.
Appears shops were prepared for this one
I was lucky enough to grab ONE copy of DM3 today. My LCS was kind enough to place the Federici variant in my pull box when I requested it. I am going to swing by Action Comics and see if they have a Cover A that I can use as my reader.
I got a Federici on my pull at my LCS. I know that ain’t news but it’s been awhile since I posted and mainly been lurking since then but there was no way in hell I wasn’t gonna be part of history!
On the road to CHU 1000 posts!
(How many variant covers y’all think the 1000 post’ll have?)
Just to keep it going. I had one in my pull. I would have likely gotten another but didn’t care all that much and had a couple others on the way. My shop has been doing a very good job of handling things imo. They are now making sure pulls are covered, always plainly stating that they will have 5 copies on the shelves at open with a one per customer limit. Now, I’m sure they will hold stuff back, do their regulars a favor, etc…and that is absolutely cool imo. They had a line around the outside Wed morning for folks trying to snag that Federici as well as Venoms. Like we always say, the general populace doesn’t work like we do. Why in the world would you just not have Venom on a pull. So be it! I just know I’m extremely impressed with how my own shop has handled things of late.
My orders from the distributor are being filed, that cover isnt as “limited” as people think. But hey, im gonna cash in while i can.
Got 4 copies of the Federici cover yesterday but I’m not seeing crazy sales on eBay. I’m thinking these just go in the box with the legends copies I have for now. I think a bunch of people are still thinking they’re getting 10+ copies of legends and DM3 Fed from online shops but IMO those copies will never arrive, and once they realize that, that’s when we’ll see an uptick in eBay sales.
Yep. I think Legends and the Federici cover are longterm holds. Let the price settle and it will do a slow climb back up. Edge of Spider-verse #2 climb? IMO no. But … should make a climb up as long as the character hangs around and they do something with him.
I think it would be cool if we have some historical stat tracking on these to look back on, so I’ll be posting updates to this going forward.
At this exact moment we are 2 days after release on DM 3 and 9 days after Death Metal Legends.
Total Completed and Active listings on eBay as of this exact moment for all variations:
DM3: 1,104
Legends: 1,780
Yep. Will take some time to slow burn off the supply. Once people get their issues tucked away, let’s see where the price moves towards.
I feel it’s going to be identical to BWL. It took quite awhile for it to really catch on. So if I had a few extras of robin king I would definitely tuck them back. I sold my TT12 entirely too early, but I still made quite the profit off the entire run at the time
On a Robin King note…I’m going to end with just a couple of copies of DM#3 Federici when all is said and done. Tons of cancels, reduced amounts, and “mistakes” sent of the regular instead of the Federici. Waaaaay more trouble and “mistakes/issues” than what I encountered with the Legends book.
Same with me on the DKDM 3 Fed cover. So many Comic places Spewing their B.S. excuses. I am watching who fulfills and will shift my business to them. If you can’t secure quality copies on a ‘hot’ Issue, or your online order system can’t figure out how to not take orders for an over-ordered ‘hot’ copy, then my business goes elsewhere.
No problems yet for me I have 4 coming one has shipped the 4 cover set a, b, c, d. My order for 3 no update yet. The place I cancelled 5 DM#3 would have already shipped but it’s Canada and the shipping was more than the books. I cancelled 10 DM#3 at forbidden planet when I got the legends spoiler which is good because they would of cancelled them anyways
The ones where a “mistake” was made and the regular copy was sent really gets me. You know darn well it wasn’t a mistake. Even had one try to politely accuse me of swindling them/lying about it. I shouldn’t have to videotape the opening of this stuff, but perhaps I’ll need to start. I have zero need to lie about a comic book.
I videotape opening every package over $300 I’ve never needed to use it but you never know. But not a $3.99 comic book
