Robin King 1st App?

Ive gotten all my legends ot they are on the way shipped except the 9.8 that wont ship until Sept. Still haven’t shipped 3 of my DM#3 I mags politely today. I should get my DM#2s at day from midtown they gave the ups who in return gave them to usps as media mail. I have two midtown orders like this and then the rest shipped usps and first class and 3-7days. So my haul currently is DM#2x1 and a 1:25. DM#3 cover C x1 waiting on 3, 3 copies left of legends, 2 variants had 3 midtown cancelled one and waiting on the 9.8 cover A. Sold 12x legends cover A and one 1:25 variant at $275.

I missed the window to sell so I’ll hold my 4 copies of legends and my 4 federicis until this story builds some more.

My 4 copies of DM#3 I ordered from places that still had them listed as Opena all came through/delivered today. Wasn’t sure if if they’d get cancelled or send the regular version.

Got my Legends 1:25 yesterday that I preordered for $35. Bravo to the shop for honoring it.

Both covers back in stock at Midtown

$12 for the Legends A and $150 for the 1:25.

So this begs the question? Why did they limit these? Oh that’s right… so they can hold some back to jack the prices up… SMH…

That’s bad At Midtown. I am still waiting for my issues I ordered before FOC.

That was mine and someone else’s here variants they took away from us

And then charged twice as much as we paid

But they still did fulfill are 1 per limit copy so can’t be that mad. I got two with two accounts should of used 3 accounts so my mistake anyways.

@agentpoyo, you yourself have said you have no problem with shops limiting one per customer at cover upon release to avoid speculators clearing the shelves and are ok if those same shops hold back copies As long as they put a fair amount on the shelves for walk ins.

So how is this any different?

Limit 3 was more than what they typically do. $75 for the 1:25 was less than half the market rate at that time as well.

From midtown, or somewhere else? Because that doesn’t sound right at all.

Still waiting for my Legend issues from Midtown. They cancelled one order but supposedly I am going to get the other one of these days.

My problem is they canceled orders on people apparently and are now selling these at higher prices. These aren’t normal holds or extra buys in my opinion. It also doesnt help that they are also the distributor. Could you imagine if Diamond “held copies” to sell at eBay prices 2 weeks after they canceled orders on retailers? Any canceled sale shouldnhave gone back into the pool for people who missed out at cover price.

I’m gonna hold the retailer now distributor at a higher standard. Plus, I ordered Legends and they didnt ship until August 17th… I got two orders I ordered a week after Legends and those already arrived. WTF???

Cancelling orders is bull crap. Finding ‘extra’ copies and selling at higher prices is bull crap. I have yet to have cancels on ‘no name’ books. ‘Hot’ and ‘trendy’ issues - roll out the cancellations.

Thanks for the clarification. I understand what you are saying now. You’re placing them in a separate bucket and holding them to different standards than others.

Yes. They’re not your normal mom and pop shop at this point (particularly since they’re DC’s distributor as well). I’m gonna hold them to higher standards. Any of the canceled books should have gone back into the pool of cover price for more people to get a chance at them. Instead, it clearly shows they rounded up all their canceled ordered books and then took advantage of jacking up the prices on them.

Expect the same for Spawn 309B. Haven’t cancelled my 5 orders yet, but if they do there will be 4 copies up the following week for $50.

But to a point you made previously, if I’m told to wait 5 minutes to “enter the store again” technically I could be considered a “new” customer.

That’s a whole ‘nother factor to throw into the concern with their behavior.

Exactly. When does the “new customer” count roll over? If I lived in NYC, I could just visit all their brick stores. Are they gonna say I can’t buy that book cause I just came from the Midtown store and bought one there? Honestly I think each full checkout should reset the customer count… But they should detail such terms if they want to play games.

If you make you’re purchase, take it to your car, re-enter the store and go to the end of the checkout line, to me, you are now a new customer.

Ah well… I wasn’t mad when they removed a Legends from an order. What I frown upon is, they likely took that copy they canceled and are now selling it for $12 instead of giving others who missed out by throwing it back in the pool from release day to sell at cover price. Just seems like they only canceled cause they knew they could hold back copies and sell at higher prices.
