I use to draw all the time. Iâm also my biggest critic. I think all my stuff Iâve ever done has sucked. So I always try to take the approach of others art, could I do that? Or could I do that better? I also try to get into the artists mind as well to understand their own presentation and expression of their artwork, as itâs all subjective.
Do I think the Spider-Woman cover is awful? Not entirely. I just canât get around the legs that bother me. But if I saw this on the shelf for cheap, you bet your arse Iâd pick it up to flip. Buy low what others are buying highâŠ

You get it @Bill. I guess other people took notice and now there are gonna be store variants. While I may dislike store variants, it appears that she is going to become a common name and people may chase those early appearances.

That Spider-Woman is an awesome cover. I pre-ordered it months back for $20 with my LCS.
Is there just no spec in South Africa for the most part? The comics you find just laying around stores make me salivate!

Not much of a market for it, very small amount of people in the community. This wasnât lying around though I knew my store ordered enough for the 1:25 and ordered it purely on the cover art because I liked it. If this was a popular title like Batman or Thor they wouldnât have presold it to me unless I ordered 25 copies to get the 1:25

I have to say I really like those Besch covers. There really is something nice and fresh about the art. I donât own any yet, so I have no skin in the game. But those covers all jumped out at me.
I like âgrown upâ art too, but there should always be room for styles that stand out and are well executed examples of what they are. I think these Besch covers are just that.
Momoko I am invested in, but have to admit that her covers have become really hit or miss. I started being selective with her work a long time ago, and have only bought what I like. She over-stretched and has turned out some work that isnât anywhere near her best. Quite looking forward to seeing what she does with interior art in Demon Days.

Besch got a fair amount of coverage this weekend on the CT101 'Tube, including a mention of Bee & Puppycat #9. So thereâs going to be a subset of those viewers now looking for her covers.

I just grabbed a trade copy, pleasantly surprised it was easy to grab and no issues with the site, it unlocked right at 2 and got it fast
Are people trying to hype her up like what they did with Momoko ? Iâm not falling for this hype twice. LOL

Iâm not a fan of the super-thick outlines. I think it takes away from otherwise great art.
Momoko puts out some great covers when its in her style.
Itâs due to FOMO.Rose Besch 1:25 Spider woman #9 isnât that good,but you see idiots paying for 120 plus right now for it.Iâm pretty that nerd comic tom is going to hype and push her next.

Wasnât trying to hype her but could see the writing on the wall in advance of the others. So now the info is out there and that already ghost of a book (Bee and Puppycat will be even harder to find until the onslaught of copies hit eBay at a crazy price.
When I posted this I had been looking for that cover for a week with no luck. And I posted it before Comic Tom, before it was on Its Drunken Chat and a full day before there were any variants released.
No, not hyping, giving the heads up on a trend I was seeing.
