If we can do toys I’m all in. While I love comics, I’m newer to the scene. I’ve collected Star Wars (& other toys) as long as I can recall.
This is my “Commander” wall! One of the 1st SW figs I received was the Death Squad Commander. So, I have a focus on his varied cardback/production runs, etc. You can really go down a rabbit hole with SW.

In this pic are a few grails. To the far left/alone, is a Revenge of the Jedi Kenner proof card. As we all know, the movie was changed to Return of the Jedi, but before that happened, Kenner did produce a few proof cards for Revenge. They are very rare.
Also in this pic is the last cardback that featured the name “Death Squad commander”, before it was deemed inappropriate & changed to Star Destroyer Commander. This version was on an Empire Strikes back card.
The photo in this display is signed by Mark H. as well.
I have a mix, but most of my vintage carded are graded.
I’ll share a few other toy grails if anyone is interested!

That’s a great collection Devildog! I’d love to see some more!

Those are some heavy hitter keys Alana! Good for you!

My true grails are AF15 and ASM1. Neither of which I will own anytime soon. But, these are some of my favourites in my collection. The IF14 is prob my best comic in my collection and the Vader #3 1:25 is a personal favourite character 1st.

Both are gorgeous. That IF 14 is a beaut. Congrats on nabbing that one!

Thanks. I had posted earlier in the thread as well. You may have missed that post but I had posted a bunch I consider grails that I sold to buy my house. I had a near complete X-Men run among thousands of silver age keys that I sold off 6-7 years ago.

I’m back collecting but now it’s mostly modern keys and Post ‘98 Newsstands. Those books all have jumped in value so they’re out of reach currently.

Just got this in today. Really beat up, but not the worst I have. Been on my list for a long time. Very happy to have it!

I’m starting to appreciate the lower grade books that are from the silver and bronze age that are beaten up a little. Seems they have a better story to tell than the ones that someone bought to just stick in a bag and board in a longbox. These beat up books show these were passed around, read… it’s fun to think how many kids passed it around to share, to talk about… etc. They have more character than the books that were tucked away and shielded.

It’s better to own a low grade than not own one and save for a high grade. You can always upgrade later and sell the low grader.

I really do enjoy the character a beater of a book has. I like when things that are meant to have been enjoyed, have been enjoyed. The fact that I have very little disposable income likely fuels this feeling haha

My first appearance of Ultron was in a house fire and survived has some soot on the back cover or at least that’s what the listing said. You can’t kill Ultron he comes back :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I have a Detective Comics 132 that got water damaged so badly, mildew spores grew on it. It’s triple bagged and sealed with packing tape. Got it for $10 and it’s Golden Age Batman. Good enough for me haha

It’s missing the action transfers (I’m not sure they came attached or tucked in), but this book is a ghost in high grade. Not often you come across one in any grade.

From across the pond. Packaging was not great, but it arrived ok. Im guessing an 8.0-8.5 if missing the transfers isn’t a hit. Very clean with only the faintest blemishes.

One more grail off my list.

And to give an idea as to the scarcity of this book in high grade.

Only 3 copies on the census (all CGC)

I can’t remember if I posted these or not, but I finished my Crossed Ms. Mayhem variant set. They were grails of mine for a while and I love the set!
