Ill grab one of these for re-reads.

I saw Ross Richie’s post on Instagram that only the 1st print was getting the slipcover and made a mental note to seek it out later.

Thanks for doing the legwork for me.

FOC is in September! Hope I don’t forget if I change my mind. But at $50 it’s not that far from a 1:50 ratio price…

Thanks. Ordered some copies. :grinning:

These will be really nice Christmas gifts for some non-comic reading friends!

This limited edition will feature an exclusive slipcase and be limited to its first printing.

Until BOOM decides it isn’t.

limited to first printing, means it will have massive print run for a HC, rumor of 4 store variants as well, 1 with 1k print run and 3 with 500 print run

BOOM will make a limited edition 2nd printing slip case after you buy the 5th print foil spectacular of BRZRKR #10 along with bringing in your SIKTC #1 8th Printing, only owners of the 8th printing qualify to buy!

I’m in.

Good thing @Anthony has you chained up or Boom! Would steal you away coming up with gold like that!

But you won’t get it because stores will sell it for $200 instead.

But FOMO wins over with half of would be buyers so BOOM! Wins…

I have yet to read a SIKTC issue. I see a lot of talk about how good it is, yet I rarely see anyone post about the actual content of the book.
What is the premise of the book, and how has it held up after 15+ issues?
Who are the main characters, and what makes them interesting characters? And lastly, iyo, what makes the book a good long term investment? :beers:

IMO, it’s just another Buffy knock-off. The book sells because of hype and media “news” so far.

So it has vampires and demons and stuff in it? Horror Fantasy?
Id still like to know the actual premise, and characters, that are driving the story.

It was a $15-$30 book before option news in April/May 2020. Nobody cared about the series except some loyal readers. We had all those new fomo collectors injected into the hobby shortly after that time buying everything and driving up prices. Outside of those points, Erica Slaughter is a badass-looking character that kills monsters and saves children. That is enough for some people to be interested. The story is ok, but after 6 issues I got bored with it. I think DoT is the superior Tynion-created title.

With that said, it’s a great story for TV. I think it could be way way better than the book.

I have a hard time staying with what I consider to be bad writing. I give up on titles quickly. And for what it’s worth, I’ve stayed with reading this one. It’s not the greatest story ever written, but I think it’s reasonably well done. My big complaint with new titles is they move too quickly and fail to develop characters. This did not suffer from that. The pacing felt right.

Thank you. I appreciate the thoughtful response. I have a few more questions regarding the series, if you care to indulge me…what is Erica’s motivation for her actions? And what is the overall agenda for the characters? Is it just episodic with no connection between arcs, or, is there a main underlying premise to the story (more like a serial)?

Maybe I try to pick up the first TPB and see for myself. :man_shrugging:

I think it was originally suppose to only be 6 issues or a mini-series. When things are just kept going cause the publisher/creative team sees “potential” cause they sold the issues well, I think that’s when most stories tend to lose overall appeal and such. The best story ideas are the ones that have a beginning, middle and ending before they even start writing it. BKV is a master I think when it comes to knowing the full story before he even starts. Just like most ongoing television series, keep it at 3 to 6 seasons max cause anything after that you always tend to lose viewers it seems.

We began to see who Erica was connected to and where she comes from after Issue #5. Those people made bigger appearances in the story. There is a bit of rift between Erica and the order/house she came from in the past. It looks like issue #16 onward will give us a better idea about the orders’/houses’ actual motivations. I think after the origin stuff is out of the way we will see what she does in a new town.
