Something is Killing the Children

What’s even worse is, all their books start off as 5-6 issue mini-series and then if they take off, they extend them… so it’s basically the writers winging the story as they go along, making it lose all substance to the story itself.

Have people been treating these later issues like spec? I just think people like this series. I’ve never heard anyone talk spec on any of the books past 9 (Jessica cameo). #16 (jessica full) could be a $10-15 book someday, but it had a bazillion exclusives.

I could see some of the ratios being worth more than ratio, at least on these issues after #16 with only one exclusive per issue, but that’s about it. I guess if any character introduced in any of these issues turns out to be super popular on TV, this may change.

It only takes one Michonne-esque performance to ignite a book. I’d say Jace Boucher could be that character, but HoS 1 was so heavily printed I just can’t imagine that book ever really heating up.

Its my favorite series but I only collect the issues for personal collection , still need to fill out the early run. Judging by how house of slaughter is set way earlier i’m thinking he gets killed by Aaron so we probably won’t see him in the present

$25 for something he’s spending pennies on to likely print on his HP Laserjet printer at home? Pfftt…

This would mean that Tynion is eventually going to leave the book…

Well, it was originally only suppose to be like a 6 issue mini-series. He was just winging it since issue 7 I think…

Cashing in, let other people write it. Ill drop it most likely, its been just ok anyway. SIKTC is much better.

I was getting the impression that he just wants to keep starting new projects. DoT has been a joke since he had guest artists. His Substack exclusive projects seem to matter more to him. I ain’t paying for that crap.

Tynion has written every issue of DoT that has been released.

I meant to say guest artists. The lady in red origin was a weak account. The moth man was terrible.

Tynion is an average writer. On a good day.

And that good day happens maybe once or twice a year for me…

Anybody get/read the Ashcan for SIKTC 21? Wondering if there’s any significant new characters or worthwhile spec in #21.
