@RipCityGamer, Iâm curious why you guys went with 2500 as your official print run number. Why not state it as 3000, hold 500 for damages and comps, and in a month when you feel safe that there will be no more damages, sell the remaining XXX? Then the print run number feels more accurate, TFAW gets more $$$ out of its investment, and maybe buyers that missed it the first time around get a second shot at it a couple weeks later. And, you donât have to recycle potentially hundreds of perfectly fine books.
Is it fear of backlash from the critics that will say, âoh, they claimed to have 3,000, sold out, but now magically have moreâ? Because, well, thatâs probably a legitimate PR concern.

Thatâs how I would do it in an ideal plan, but itâs not how people have been trained to see/buy exclusives sadly. So if we were to say â3000â people who buy exclusives will assume âoh that just means they printed 3500 because stuff will be damagedâ. Saying 2500 people who understand exclusives know thatâs basically code for saying âwe printed 3000 and weâre setting some aside for damages, but weâre only selling 2500â. And the people who wouldnât care about that donât care about the run anyway.
Thereâs also the marketing angle of things, where if we held back 500 for damages then sold whatever we could from that, weâre essentially launching the exclusive twice. Later on if we have dozens of in-stock exclusives people may look at what we have in stock from time to time, but considering we mostly deal with new releases we donât have the audience who in 6 months will be looking for High Republic 3 variants.

You should do a CHU Giveaway with extra copies lol. Maybe a good way to give back to the CHU people who have made TFAW what it is now? Just maybe lol.

I think CHU should delete 500 posts and only make 2500 posts available for viewing.

Of course, weâll all demand to see visual evidence (or other indisputable means) the 500 posts were completely destroyed, never to appear again.

My man I was thinking the same. I feel like I dodged a bullet this week. Was ready to buy HaHa. The Mayhew. And now the wanted reveal of their cover⊠kinda soured on them. Like F it Iâll grab the ratios and A/B covered and x prints.
