Unless itâs a fantastic homage store variant, or a variant that just literally blows me away from the moment I see it, I skip them now. There is entirely too many every single week. Being a completionist is a thing of the past, especially if your a symbiot completionist

If I had to choose I would choose Mayhew. I just think itâs a better cover. Will his be considered first now though? Ehh its like covid codex or virus all over again⊠whichever fiasco that was lol

Yeah that completionist tick gets me most times. Venom had me buying all the store variants early last year. Mayhew was my choice either way after unwanted comics BS yesterday. But now idk lol. I feel like skipping them all for now.

I stopped buying store variants and can confirm my life is better for it. I do miss out on the occasional great deal (TFAW Siktc) but I also donât get sad when I see my dead spec store variants (too many to count) in my long boxes. That being said, def buy for pc and it is important to support comic shops.

Something is Killing the Children is my favorite indie book in a long time. Ill pick those up if the stores are selling them without any BS. I already rarely bought other ones. I got a couple of the Gleason Spider-Man and Venom variants. Think Ill just sell those and be done with these variants.

I am not spending any more time following this drama. If I happen to be free when Mayhewâs is available through his store, Iâll grab it. If not, Iâm not playing these cute games with these other Busch league stores. Itâs just annoying. Itâs not fun or exciting. Itâs just annoying. Youâre probably going to need to do a scavenger hunt or some shit to get the WantedComixxxexcluzzive one.

$35/ lot vs $60/lot. 
Additionally we have no idea what will occur in the book itself. We can âassumeâ he will appear in SWHR #3 with these covers, but we also âassumeâ he will appear in SWHRA #2, released same day, based on his cameo in SWHRA #1. So, which storyline is more important? There is no doubt that there will be far fewer IDW SWHRA #2s printed vs Marvels SWHR #3.

You may be correct⊠before any exclusive I said for the first 5 issues for bot runs SWHR & SWHRA Iâm goin 3 copies each issue and go from there as how story and character reveals go. Still gonna buy each issue covers A/B but nay limit it to 1 or 2 issues each.

Forget these store variants. Not worth the hassle with the practices employed by some. I stick to the covers A/B and ratio variants and call it good.

Yeah, I totally agree with you. I was drawn in by the awesomeness of Mayhewâs but with the huge let down being todayâs postponement, I snapped back to reality really quick.

There are a number of store variants from years past I absolutely love and would never give up. For instance Darth Vader #1 Alex Ross Boba Fett cover and Star Wars #1 Forbidden Planet Granov.
It never used to be this big of a hassle though. That wasnât even that long ago. 5 years tops. Seems like the store variant game has gotten a lot more out of hand since then.
Definitely. 5 years ago if you wanted a store variant and were on the website when it went on sale youâd most likely get it. Now you likely wonât.

I got the Momoko Strange Academy variant well after it came out. Now if I want one of the SIKTC I have to constantly refresh the sales link and hope Im fast enough.
