Not weighing in either for or against here, just providing info.

I asked if there would be evidence of destruction or donation and they responded:

Nothing at my local Walmart yet. I usually have luck there too. I’ll have to check again later this week.

What kind of journalist are you?! Presenting info in a totally unbiased, straight down the middle type of way?!

Also, this is meant to read incredibly sarcastically.

coa lol they make those themselves lol

But it’s more efficient
(also sarcastic)

I’m more curious about what explanation they have for completely removing the cover of the ‘reader copy’, thus making it impossible to tell what cover it originally had. As they originally stated that those ‘reader copies’ would be copies of the store variant.

PS. It must of been more efficient for them to come up with wholly uncreative, generic name of ‘comicbookexclusive’, then it was to come up with a name that had any ounce of thought put into it. (meant to be read with sass and sarcasm too)

It seems half or just under half of walmarts don’t do comics. Theres 4,700 walmarts. If 2000 stores got 3 packs, thatd be about equivalent to a 1:20 if 100,000 were printed. Is this correct? And I assume about 1/6 get manhandled by the vendor, unruly children and thieves, so maybe 4000-5000 NM’s or less?

I don’t like the idea that they’re taking pics and not an actual video that’d be harder to fake or doctor.

Doesn’t wookie already do something like this? Also wookie I found your Instagram and liked your comment to show moral support

Yeah, a COA is not proof
 oh for fscks sake
now they’re just gonna try and weasel out any way they can if we’re gonna get responses like this. Plus, yes, they still need to explain the entire cover missing, not a portion. A portion of the cover would have left the “exclusive” portion remaining, thus providing such proof that they did in fact destroy one of their exclusives.

Basically now at this point, the lack of evidence will be evidence against them. There’s more than 600 copies of each cover out there cause we all know they didn’t destroy something that’s selling for $400+ on the secondary.

This is such bullshit
it’s one thing if you’re a store and you just claim “limited” and don’t explain anything else but when you say you’re going to do something as in destroying, then you better do what you say cause it’s just going a mile further in the deception of the people who bought copies.

I hope some who bought these opens an inquiry with their local or state authorities to look into this sale deception and lies.

I don’t have a comprehensive list of Sith Lords during the high republic era.

I’ll tell ya who does: wookieepedia, Jedi-bibliothek.de, and a number of other databases.

I dunno. Good for them for writing what seem like interesting articles. I’m just kind of bend out of shape because a couple months ago they implied they were responsible for the recent fervor around Star Wars books. I took exception because there are those of us who have been collecting and reading Star Wars for 20, 30, 40+ years who already had resources and knew about all these appearances and keys before everybody and their dog came in and inflated our books from $2.00 books to $40+ etc. whatever, I’m just a little sour on their inflated sense of importance to Star Wars collecting. Many have come before who have put in years of work cataloging this stuff.

There are too many assumptions in your equation for it to hold any water, imo.

You guessed how many stores don’t get comics.
You’ve guessed how many copies each store would get.
You’ve guessed a certain percentage of damages.
Too many variables to come up with any semblance of an accurate number of copies, let alone NM copies.

Taking multiple individual pictures is more efficient than taking one video.

It’s going to be like 6 photos in one Instagram post.

Really? What an absolute joke of an unjustified, over inflated ego. Unless cbsi created and released the covid19 virus, while simultaneously writing and directing the Mandalorian season 2 fan service, then they have absolutely nothing to do with Star Wars comics current demand.
I’ll bet dollars to donuts that CHUs forum is far outpacing the sheep’s pen that is cbsi as far as users and daily hits.
I literally visit cbsi once every few months when I’m bored and need to kill a few minutes. It’s a literal afterthought for me. That site is so messed up with ads, self promotion, and authoritarian mods.
