We really should inundate their social media demanding answers that don’t insult the customers intelligence.
I do like this “reader copy included”‘that I have seen recently. Not a bad idea. Although not sure if if resolves the extra copy problem in total.
I think people who bought copies should open inquiries into the sales practice. They’ve publicly claimed there will be no more than 600 copies total, all others will be destroyed and documented with proof. They are now beating around the bush in providing sufficient evidence of such destruction and already caught with lies about destruction (portion of cover, not removing the entire cover)… At this point in their claims, to me, it’s criminal tactics.
I’m all for holding entities true to their given word.
For someone who claims they like to do things efficiently, they sure are not very efficient about their emerging lack of efficiency.
Someone implying they are responsible for the recent explosion of Star Wars interest is completely laughable. Like, c’mon…
But since they’re giving this a shot, I’d like you all to know I invented the internet.
Al Gore would have words, Normie!
Having said that, adding a key and firsts database to DrunkWooky.com is on my list of long term goals, but that is, of course, a lot of work that will be slow progress. It’s in the works, though.
Exactly. You say you’re gonna provide proof and there will be exactly 600 copies of something, then you better provide concrete proof since you touted all over your exclusives website that these will not exceed such number. A COA created by yourself is not proof. A few pictures is not proof.
It’s one thing for a shop to say “limited to X amount” and its split across multiple shops and they don’t go into great details on how they’re going to truly make it limited by destroying the remaining copies.
This is why this scenario is different for me and if they don’t destroy all the copies except what they claim, then we have problems.
Would numbered COAs work for you (e.g., 420/500)?
I like the Black Cape SIKTC’s because they are numbered.
No, that’s not proof that there’s exactly 600 and they destroyed all other copies they were required to buy.
Offering numbered, home made, COAs is nothing more than putting lipstick on a pig, imo.
Yup… one has to ask themselves, if I’m gonna provide proof, would it hold up in a court of law? If the answer is no, then it’s not proof. If the answer is yes… then well, there you go.
The other question that raises reasonable doubts is, we’re all just assuming they bought the minimum required number from Marvel to qualify. There’s nothing that kept them from ordering 1000 more or 10k more… if they wanted.
So yeah, too much reasonable doubt and even if they could show us the invoice of quantity ordered, they’d likely then be breaking the NDA with Marvel.
So yeah, this whole dog and pony show of them going the extra mile of saying their exclusive is truly exclusive with all the nonsense they claimed is truly just that, a bunch of nonsense.
In other news, pigs grew wings and can now fly after catching COVID-19…
Seems like there’s a market for a third party service that counts, numbers, and certifies number copies with a notarized stamp. Maybe not a big market. I’m not betting my money on such an endeavor.
Something like Authenticators Inc., but not for signatures, just print runs.
Yeah, so who’s stopping them from sliding a box under the table from the total amount of copies?
Also, such 3rd party still likely doens’t have rights to view the invoices unless they sign the Marvel NDA… I’m no lawyer but I’ve had to sign NDA’s before… can’t just go showing the invoice to a 3rd party unless they go sign an NDA as well to verify purchases, etc, that are under an NDA disclosure.
This is them the other day said they are going to start selling to those who DM after the sell out
Now one smart person asked the question: why would we message you if it sold out? And you can see my responses same name here
Yeah I think you’re right. It would just add another layer of convolution.
I’m excited for the “the dudes we asked to destroy the extra issues and make a video totally scammed us and saved a bunch. We aren’t at fault and we’re super sorry, but we aren’t at fault here.” post
Yeah man gotta call a spade a spade.
