Yea I saw that, and immediately thought “wasn’t it on the cover of issue 1?”
But this will be a ultra super limited print run with proven over print destruction!
Those Anindito variants should shoot up in price in the future with the first cover appearance of the Twins let alone the drengir
Also I can’t remember but wasn’t high republic meant to be a 5-6 issue run but then they changed it to a ongoing series? Issue 4-5/6 should be interesting
Ok, let me clarify. The result isn’t terrible. The concept of slightly altering the art in the computer is an offensive proposition.
We don’t know if this was Photoshop by Black Flag or if Mike Mayhew went into his 3D illustrating software and actually changed the elements. I’d prefer the latter given the options. Looks like there’s smoke behind him rather than fire this time.
All I know is I bought 2 sets for $80 each and sold one set for $600. So I don’t have jack shit to complain about. Seems the only people whining and crying are people that missed out on it and now don’t have a chance at the 2nd chance offer. I know some of these guys, and have a good relationship with them…I sent multiple PMs asking to buy a few damaged sets and that I wouldn’t tell anyone etc…they turned me down every time. Theres only a few available on Ebay at any given time…you guys act like an abundance of these are available somehow, somewhere. The sets are selling for 7-8x what I paid for them…and even if it was only worth the money I paid id be happy. Again, the ones crying are the ones who missed out. I didn’t…I made a nice profit off of it!
I don’t do store variants. My problem is, if you say your going to do something, then do it. I have a huge issue when people lie.
So good for you for flipping a set, but that’s not the point. The point is, CBE claimed they were going to make this limited by destroying copies and from the evidence presented, isn’t much evidence or proof if you ask me. Nothing they displayed or have done would hold up in a court of law as evidence.
Again, no one here is crying due to that reason. We got a lot of folks here who did buy sets.
I myself never had any Interest in their store exclusive. So I didn’t miss out on anything. I don’t like the lies they’ve told and things they said were going to be done weren’t done.
If CBE did destroy over half a million dollars worth of comics (based on 2k+ copies X ebay prices) and did it in a way that would not make major headlines they missed out on a huge marketing opportunity. That would be something you would see a non-comic website report if well documented in destruction. The destruction marketing is suspiciously low key.
