So as I assumed and predicted, still zero solid and concrete proof they destroyed them all down to just the 600 copies for each cover.

You know, thinking on this more…I also think this whole “we’re going to donate these destroyed copies to kiddos and Vets” is a bunch of nonsense as well. You want to do a great thing for kids and Vets, sell those copies from the total print run and donate some of the damn profits to kids and Vets. They could use medical supplies, travel money for parents, blankets, food, etc, etc.
1st of all, I give stuff out to kids routinely with the 501st…nobody wants nor deserves destroyed stuff as a gift. 2nd…don’t use giving stuff to kids and Vets as some sort of “atta boy/atta girl” when that really isn’t the point of your endeavor. You goal was to make a boat load of money and reputation for a high dollar exclusive…not to help the needy.

If all those boxes were indeed their “cover” they ripped off entirely… I want to see the pile of 1000+ covers sitting off to the side…
None of what they provided would hold up in a court of law.
This is just sad. Anyone who actually believes this is concrete evidence deserves to lose whatever money they throw at them. You might as well go and buy that Miracle Water bullshit… from Peter Popoff Ministries that cures your diseases and makes you rich (or stumble upon a wad of cash you didn’t have previously)…

Oh yeah, they’re attempting to dress up something that is very clearly not altruistic as something that is, and the only people who seem to be buying it are the ones that need to to sell the copies they bought.

Their pictures are set up to not show us that information. Whether that was deliberate or not is unclear. If it’s not deliberate, then it’s pretty shoddy/ignorant of the main complaints against them. So…

I’m as suspicious as the rest of you, but I’m wondering if maybe we should move off the whole “CBE are scam artists and scumbags” topic. I’m not buying their second exclusive basically just because It’s not an appealing cover. First of all, even as a huge Star Wars fan, I don’t consider Heir to the Empire to be a classic cover worth homaging. Hell, the comic isn’t event that good to begin with. It’s a rote and abridged recitation of Zahn’s novel that really should just be read in its full form. Yes, it’s the first comics appearance of Thrawn, et al., but it’s also just an adaptation of the book. Second, i’m suspicious enough that I’m not comfortable spending $60+ on a cover I’m not even that fond of.
Getting back to the discussion of print runs, destruction, and proof. It think we’ve gotten to the point where those that believe CBE are sticking to their word are not going to change their mind regardless of what arguments we make that their proof actually proves nothing. Those of us who are skeptical will also be very unlikely to persuade that destruction of all the proper copies has occurred either.
So, given that we’re at loggerheads, I think the point has just become distracting and I’d much prefer discussing the substance of High Republic than beat this horse further into the muck and mire.
Anyway, not coming down on you guys and I have no authority here anyway. Just pointing out that this thread is starting to look like the bash on CBE thread and not the High Republic thread.

Me too! Although, I’m currently most excited for the HRA storyline. That might change when we get to issue 4 of HR and the plot twist happens.
