Star Wars First Appearance Republic FTW!
Considering it is a new book, pretty much every character is getting a first appearance and every issue will most likely have a first appearance.
They should just do a book with every panel being a first appearance of a character. Like cool ass bounty hunters in armor. Will be a winner.

They are basically world-building an entire new era across multiple forms of media, so it makes sense these characters are coming at us in quick succession. Most of the comic firsts aren’t major surprises because those of us reading the novels and such have a little experience with these characters.
This is like building up the prequel era, except less re-use of characters and people actually care while this is coming out.

Yeah, love the world building, it’s about time they did this since the Prequels and the alternate timeline they set up in the sequels.

The statues are either four dark side users/gods/historic figures. They were imbued with dark energy to keep the Drengir at bay on Amaxine station. In Claudia Gray’s novel, the Jedi mistakenly thought they were the source of the dark energy they felt and removed the statues releasing the Drengir.
They first make a cameo in High Republic 4 (Marvel) in a Drengir hive mind flashback, although I’m starting to think they are different because they seem much taller and hooded. Then they appear in HR Adventures 6 (IDW) on an info page. This is their first cover. May be worth while if the characters turn out to be something of significance. They seem to be harking on the statues a lot.

I’m a big fan of both of these. I like the Deva design in particular. I see an Esge of Spider-Verse type interest in that cover.

I think part of the allure of the second print is that they may have a lower print than the first print. The covers were not shown until now where my guess is most stores have gotten their foc orders already. End of the day its all spec so time will tell which one the market will prefer.

Id agree. The shops I visited on FCBD had already placed there FOC orders that Fri evening when ratio covers were released. ONly online retailers i think are finalizing today.
