Star Wars the High Republic #9 is out today and on the very last page, we get a look at the as-yet unseen Phil Noto cover to High Republic #12, out in December 2021! The cover shows Nihil Tempest Runner, Lourna Dee holding a green lightsaber!
Lourna Dee made her first cover appearance on the Blanche concept variant to High Republic #1 and made her first comic cameo (no dialogue and in a hologram) today in High Republic #9! Now it looks like Lourna is making her first full comic appearance coming up here in fourth quarter of 2021! Stay tuned for pre-order links! This High Republic ride keeps getting better and better!

Yeah, these were pretty cheap initially and can still be found pretty cheap but I bet we’ll see a rise in value now with Star Wars High Republic #1 Blanche Concept Art Variant
There was also a store exclusive for SW High Republic #2 as well with her on the cover that might see some more love as well.

So she was on the cover of issue 1, but did not show up in the story until issue 8.
That should confuse the spec population pretty good…which one is the book to have??
I know the answer will be “all of them” but that doesn’t help spec value much when things are confusing and spread out.
But we’ll see what happens. Maybe it’s a dud character and no one cares in the end.
I like that cover to 12 best of all of them though.

Considering her first appearance was actually in a novel, I think #1 will win out cause it’s a ratio so a little tougher to find but the first full will become prominent as well.
I’m not big on store variants but the #2 store exclusive I linked too is a pretty awesome cover I think.
This is kind of like what happened in Knights of the Old Republic. Revan appeared hooded once, then in a mask like a dozen issues later. Malak appeared as “Squint”. Then he appeared later as Jedi “Malak”. He never became Darth Malak in the comics. On, and on. Knights of the Old Republic is a mess if you are just trying to get the keys. Not such an issue if you collected the whole run at the time.

My LCS had only a few SWHA #8 left which I scooped up. HRA #9 was plentiful.

Yes, about a month ago they seemed to lose value and I got them for $7.50 a piece. We will see where the story goes.
Does either character have a better path to stardom in the MCU?
Are there still exclusives for every issue of high republic?
So is Lourna Dee dead? or not? In HRA #8 the Jedis indicate she is dead. Anybody that has read the novels, etc. know if this is the case?
It is not the case. The Jedi only have a vague idea what is going on with the Nihil. They don’t know who The Eye is or who the Tempest Runners are. They’re just guessing.
Heh, tfaw had a glitch before when swhr came out and allowed me to add 6 of those 1:10 variants for #1 when it came out, got all 6 of em for 7.99 from there before.
