SWHRA 1 (IDW) for Lula.
SWHR 1 (Marvel) for Keeve.

Crap I got them mixed up.

That all depends on when in the High Republic Era the comics take place. The High Republic takes place between 300 & 82 BBY. Yoda being there means he could be 600 years old or 818 years old… tough to gauge.

Yeah. The extremely scant information we have about Acolyte is it takes place at the end of the High Republic around 82 BBY. We don’t actually know when the comics and books are taking place right now.

It’s suggested that the hyperspace event and the fate of Starlight Beacon mark the beginning of the end of the High Republic.

Heads up, High Republic Adventures 12 1:10 Hu incentive variant on FOC this week:

Color me unimpressed. I just can’t get into the High Republic.

I tried so so hard to read… deep read… each and every issue up to about #7.
At the end of #7, I said to myself “why am I reading this?” I almost lulled myself into believing how much I wanted to want to like it. Sadly I just couldn’t do it anymore and I am not. I just honestly am bored with the story

I can understand that. The marvel series on its own is not amazing. I much prefer Adventures over at IDW. Older (who was writing Adventures) is writing Trail of Shadows and that is headed in a good direction if you ask me.

I guess what is keeping me into it is the fact that I’m reading the adult novels along with the comics. With all that added background, context, and immersion, I find it enjoyable. Having said that, it’s no excuse. The comic series should each stand on their own. There’s no way every reader should be expected to go that deep into it. Especially for those who this is not their primary fandom.

I’m not going to be that guy who’s all “well if you are reading the Silmarillion are you even a Tolkien fan!?”, cus that type of gate keeping just isn’t cool.

This is literally me to a tee. I’m checking out Eye of the Storm but that is it. My favorite era is the Galactic Civil War and the fallout after the death of the Emporer. I think the best stories can be told in the 19 years after ROTS and the 30+ years after ROTJ.
