Star Wars: The High Republic

They did not sell out right away.

In fact, I didn’t get JTC’d… I got Mayhew’d in a different way than drunkwooky. I ordered 4 from one of the retailers selling them and 3 of them showed up in VF condition at best (this is the Mayhew’d part… any Mayhew variant I ever received had arrived in shitty condition). The retailer agreed to replace those 3 and I didn’t need to send the damaged ones back. That left me with 7 copies… albeit 3 of them were in VF or worse condition. The other 4 were probably 9.2 at best.

A couple months later I ordered 2 9.8 CGC slabs.

I don’t think he bags and boards then quick enough when he receives them and the ink rubs against the other books. There are videos of him pulling books raw out of boxes.

Might be nice just to keep track of who’s dead in canon. :joy:

Death means nothing even in Star Wars… how long did we believe Boba Fett was dead?

Well he fell in the Sarlaac pit in ROTJ in May 1983. Then he crawled out in Star Wars 81 in December 1983. So less than a year.

For those who didn’t read the comics, he was dead for much longer…

Especially when it comes to cloning. Even Palps survived.

Yeah, there’s a giant rift in Star Wars fans’ understanding.

The implication is that it’s hard to put somebody else’s consciousness, especially a force-user’s, into a clone body, right?

I think the consciousness is the easy part. The physical vessel seems to be the hard part. I mean, Palps must have transferred his consciousness as he was falling down the reactor shaft.

Anyone have a cheap source for the high republic annual? Prices are crazy on eBay.

Obi-wan died 45 years ago. Was a force ghost in 2 more movies, then starred in 3 prequels, now getting his own series.

Does pretty well for a dead guy.

Both covers are sold out at the distributor, and there aren’t many out in the wild for cover price. I’m thinking with the $7.99 price tag it wasn’t a heavily ordered book. Hoping this one continues to rise as it has a wealth of first appearances in it.

Glad I ordered the SW HR 2 from you when you brought it to our attention. Do you see more growth for SW HR 7. I see some $10 listings on Ebay, but it seems to have a high print run. Maybe a long term hold ?

I always liked 7 and 8, for the first appearances. I believe the wooky had mentioned the characters were pretty important at the time (we sold a lot of those variant packages).

The numbers for HR 7 from Comichron are:

SWHR 7 88,986
SWHR 7 2nd Print (Darth Krall on the cover) 14,235 - the 14,235 is combining August (7,323) and September (6,852) numbers for the 2nd print. It’s very possible that some of these are for reorders of the fist print.

For perspective: Darth Vader # 1 2015 (First appearance of Krrsantan) shows 315,578

I personally think the 2nd print has Venom 3 3rd print potential.

It still doesn’t explain to me why people would prefer it over the Mayhew first print. It is, after all, the first cover.
