Star Wars: The High Republic

ok that’s a winner. Getting a few copies.

I’m not sure what order numbers will look like, but this is the last IDW Star Wars comic (for now). Probably the less popular of the two ongoing series. This issue was also pushed back once or twice. I don’t think FOC was ever changed.

Things might line up for this to be lesser printed than earlier issues.

These are the numbers on Comichron for the SWHRA issues so far:

IDW Cover A Assumed 1 in 10’s
SWHRA 1 85,718 8571
SWHRA 2 46,866 4686
SWHRA 3 41,161 4116
SWHRA 4 34,647 3464
SWHRA 5 29,984 2998
SWHRA 6 26,699 2699
SWHRA 7 26,163 2616
SWHRA 8 25,590 2559
SWHRA 9 23,667 2366
SWHRA 10 21,233 2123
SWHRA 11 18,795 1879
Star Wars High Republic Annual 22,223 No 1 in 10’s

It would make sense that the run would systematically drop off towards the end. It tends to happen on all series.

The 2nd print was $30 cheaper than even the trade dress Mayhew. I do like the Mayhew cover but I think us FOMO’ers aren’t looking to spend $50 on the Mayhew simply for the cover. I guess I shouldn’t try to speak for others as some have done with their replies, but that’s my personal take.

Once (if) the 2nd print catches up to the Mayhew, that exclusive will obviously pop higher due to the cover appearance.

Another unannounced online exclusive. This one for high republic adventures 13. No sales info from IDW yet.

makes sense, with them losing rights, one last exclusive to make some extra cash.

Print it while you can, eh?

It’s still a nice cover snd could have long term value down the road no?

SWA 10? Don’t remember that one’s significance.

Galaxy of Fear long shot spec.

First appearance of Daniel Jose Older?

Ha. Yeah him and I had a chat about that this morning over on Twitter:

Greetings. Seeking to crowd source some advice. If - for example - I wanted to put a couple of hundred dollars towards some HR spec. What is the best option these days? HR1-Sway, Hans, later printings? Or HRA 1, HRA 2? It appears that the pricing is still reasonable for pretty much everything (other than the Annual and HR-7 2nd), but so many issues and covers that I am a bit lost. I checked CGC census but didn’t come to any meaningful conclusion. Thank you.

Not much is going to be in the CGC or CBCS census. So Much is new and turn around times are approaching a year now.

The first book I would want in my collection is the HR1 Hans. That one seemed to not get much attention pre FOC, then was hot out of the gate. So that’s a preview of what will happen when the characters hit the live action. So many characters introduced in that book. I can see it being an a modern key at some point. At least for HR mythology.

Everything else is a crap shoot, IMO. I’ll let others weigh in. But anything Sith/Darth related seems to do well with all other Star Wars series…so maybe focus on the “bad guys” like Krall.

I realize that it is simply a cameo and a very minor one at that, but I think the importance of Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren #3 is still a very important book in the whole grand scheme of this High Republic deal as well. I loved that series to begin with, but it really is our first, true introduction to this era and Avar Kriss. I’m not saying it is the only book or anything like that. Just that it is a good time to grab a couple, as the emphasis is off of it. You can really go all in and buy the 1:25 as well (which is a beautiful cover regardless).

Anyway, I agree with everyone else on other issues like the Hans HR#1. High Republic Adventures #2 1:10 variant is the other “must have” imo.
